here's how it looks during the WC/after forest party

i moved the TV downstairs so i can watch the games... plus we had our forest party on the same weekend the WC started, so i had to take the whole thing down anyways.

here's a pic of the pmc55 in w/outdoor party gear installed (aka faders)

here's a pic of the pmc37. we took the pmc37 out to the forest as a back up mixer, but it didn't see any action.

man , i have pmc55 , and would like to install this rotary kit , do you know where i can get it from !???

lol. yeah. i havent found any stands for them that I like. I might just put the CDJ's up there next to the turntables, and then put the monitors on the cdj stands...ive tried it before and it works out fine. although I dont like the CDJ's to be too far from the mixer.

they work perfectly for me. They can go really loud and the sound quality is pretty good. At my apartment I can't really play music too loud anyways. I bought them from djmart.com over a year ago for $240USD for the pair. i am happy with them.

heh, yeah. Since mine is shown on like...page 4 of this thread, he's probably talking about your setup, not mine.

i bought it at quality electronics here in hollywood because it's about 10-15min from me.

djdeals.com offeres the kit too.

i would suggest to you that you buy it in person if possible. this way you can inspect the kit before walking out the door. the rotary kit is not rugged at all. it can get damaged very easily during shipping.

when i was @ quality, they guy opened up the package before he actually gave it to me, and the pcb on one the channels was broken, w/the chip just floating the in the bag. luckily he had several kits, so i was able to get a good one before i left.

also, my neighbor has a pmc50. he also has a rotary kit, but one of the knobs spins all the way around, along w/the pcb on the other side.
-this is not supposed to happen.

this thing is absolutely AWSOME to mix on. you're gonna freak out that night and day difference it will make when making slow smooth blends.... it's just nuts. the problems is that you spend a pretty penny on the kit, but it's kinda flimsy. but don't be too rough on them... avoid slamming the knobs upagainst the 0 or the 10 position. also, once you install it, never remove it again. once you see how much play there is on the pcb (it can rotate a little, as you can see in one of the pics -one channel looks a little crooked) and how much it bend from the simple yet arduous task of connecting/disconnecting the pin connectors you'll see what i mean. don't mess w/it more than you have to. but once it's in, it's all good.

front view -yes, the part number is DF50... there is no DF55

side view -here you can see that this kit is kinda on the delicate side, carefull handling required.

underside view -looking hella cheap here... as you can see, some of the pcb's look crooked, that's because they have some play, and can rotate a little. but i don't think much force is required to break it, and make it spin freely.

haha <-- BUSTED.

but hey, the styrofoam holds and makes use of a tight space. i dun care too much about looks cuz nobody comes to my house anyhow. when i get older and have the money, i'll have a proper studio built.

as for the jbl eons....they are crap. i'm only using it cuz they were free from work and i dun have the money to spend on proper monitors for the moment. at least the jbls kick out enough sound so that's all that matters. ALTHO i will say that i mixed in a club where they hung two g2 15s for monitors...no good. the sound from the eons just isn't clear no matter how loud or soft.
