The movie recommendations thread, son

Ok, so I've recently starting watching movies again. I rented 'In Bruges' this past weekend and I thought it was pretty good. Collin Farrell had some funny ass lines in it [innit]. Anyway, any other films like this you guys recommend? This thread is good for all things celluloid.

I also rented 'Towelhead' with Aaron Eckhart. I'll watch that later.

Crash. It is a great representation of racism and how it really works.

everyone knows about ed norton movies.

i have the curious case of banjamin button in front of me, does it suck?

i can't bring myself to watch it.

Good stuff so far.

It's hard to say, Jay. 'Benjamin Button' is one of those divisive films that people can't agree on. I thought it was fairly decent, but some people hate it. Just don't look in Brad Pitt's eyes, or you will fall in love. But you already know that.

i am more of the gilbert godfried type.

Also, if you have good taste in movies you will like Babel.

Fuck, that movie was terrible. Bad acting by most of the people in that movie, and it was basically two hours of everything everybody already knew.

Easily one of my favorite soundtracks.

yeah, but as a huge biggie fan (jake you too young nigga) i thought it did a good job at reminding me that there used to be a time where i did not hate black people or hip hop. plus lots of titties.

i saw biggie in 93 at one of those shit concerts where no one knew who the fuck he was so yeah nostalgia.

Hey man, just because I'm a few years younger doesn't mean I don't appreciate him as an artist. Though, I can certainly see the nostalgia having more of an impact on the movie for you.

8 Mile.
I saw this movie in its entirety back in December and it's toppled, absolutely crippled my previous favorites (2001 Space Odyssey, Children of Men, Sunshine). I just fucking love this movie. The scene where Jimmy and his friends take a ride in the car to Juicy is one of the best scenes ever filmed. This is why cinema was created.

"shut the fuck up, man. That's all we ever do is talk shit. None of us never do shit about nothing and we still broke as fuck and living at homes with our moms."
"What's up with this whole east coast, west coast shit? Werd!"
"You ain't the future of shit, bitch. You just David fuckin Porter."
"What the fuck man? Cheddar's hanging up in the fucking hospital and now you wanna talk about this shit? Man, fuck all ya'll."
"You ever wonder when you gotta stop living up here, and start living down here?"
That nigga can act.

Some of you may be in line to recommend the critically acclaimed film from 2008, The Wrestler. Stop, please stop. That movie is a COMPLETE rip-off of 8 Mile.
