This sums you up fairly well.

Sure thing, hope you like! Just noticed it's a Joss Whedon project too. News to me.

I'd say The Tall Man is a bit better than Cabin in the Woods, but they are both great "horror" movies.

Soooo, I just watched The Intouchables... and I gotta say, definitely watch this one. It will be worth your time and then some! Great french movie.

*edit: I wanted to add, that it does have its faults, it's not a perfect movie; but the cast makes up for most of the faults with some really good acting. Just my 2 cents.

Just watched American Psycho.

Very good - if ever there was a film that needs a second viewing - this is it. But not because of any weird twists, just because by the end you realise you needed to pay more attention the first time around.

And I think a second viewing wouldn't be enough either.

just watched this... really good movie.. i think Kiera gave a great performance especially in the beginning of the movie

Haha, I haven't seen that in years. But yeah, it is pretty good.

Another great movie: Un prophète http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1235166/

A pretty solid movie: Animal Kingdom http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1313092/

I don't want to spoil the plots of both movies, but they are worth to watch. Gonna watch The Yellow Sea in the next couple of days.

Watching Chernobyl Diaries.
Somehow, I don't think I'll enjoy this one all that much - as soon as I hear somebody say "We paid good money for this tour, bro" I can't help but start licking my chops at the prospect of seeing them brutally dismembered by mutants.

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Sep-06-2012 06:42:

I thought that it was really awful. The scares were ultimately not scary - none of em got fucked up on screen, but instead just torn away into the darkness. That was lame! Especially since not one of the characters was at all likable (except maybe Yuri, the guide and (of course) the first to go).
What really drew me to the movie was the location - really, really scary just to think of. Course, the movie couldn't at all do it justice.

The chance to see every single action star from the 80's blow shit up, cut off people's heads and shoot them to oblivion while cracking jokes about the previous movies that made them the stars they are now: 1000000000000000000000/10

Go see this movie.

Yeah, it was fun Jason Statham however isn't an 80's star.

Good we have subtitles here (Stallone)

Very true

I was talking more of the "I'll be back" vs "lone wolf" vs "yipiekaye" etc

The first movie was pretty awesome. The sequel should be the same. Kitano thinking of making a third.

has anyone seen this?

Posted by Guest on Oct-12-2012 01:12:

Just saw Stuart: A Life Backwards.

What a great movie! I was curious as to what movies Tom Hardy was in (other than Inception/Batman) after watching RocknRolla (yeah I know, a bit late lol), and damn what an amazing actor. His performance in Stuart: A Life Backwards is incredible, to say the least.

Highly, highly recommend this one.

Beyond The Black Rainbow, really sucked. Don't bother watching it.

Then why did you post about it in a recommendation thread?

I saw The Bird People in China last night. Really shows how versatile Takashi Miike is
If you're one of those people who've only seen his more action-y films (Dead or Alive trilogy, Ichi the Killer, 13 Assassins, Sukyiaki Western Django), I highly recommend you check this out.
