Saw it today, FX galore, definitely see it in the theater

I can't believe it but I actually liked Man Of Steel.

Sick and pissing out of my ass today. Going to pop in World War Z and This Is The end.

Watched 'Side Effects' yesterday. Jude Law is getting old.

Zeta-Jones/Channing for Tatum

B- decent movie.

You're probably not going to like it... no real funny comedy, it's just over the top retard comedy. I must admit, I chuckled at a few parts, but that's about it.

Waaaay too many dick references. Way too many.

Michael Cera was the best character but he's only in it for like 5 minutes

I went to see it this evening in 3D, it's really amazing, can't wait for Pacific Rim 2.

Oh and screens should be higher as the robots and monster don't fit anymore

Watched 'Mama'...it was fun.

That was actually all fake

yeah it had me going for a while (i did end up watching it, not as freaky as I thought it would be) as soon as it started in with the creepy voices I kinda guessed it was bs. Not a spectacular film but I thought it was interesting they threw in the chariot of the gods bit, wish they would've actually shown the aliens

Posted by meriter on Aug-02-2013 06:59:

ugh.. had really low expectations for 2012 and was still let down... Knowing was way better

Posted by GoSpeedGo! on Aug-03-2013 12:27:

Watched a lot of stuff. Some of it was great, a lot of it was good and mediocre and some of it was bad.

I watched Sharknado yesterday and that doesn't fit in any of those...

Also watched Dark skies, was not bad imo.

Just watched Jurassic Park 3 thinking it couldn't possibly be worse than the 2nd one. Boy was I wrong. I just don't understand how you could fuck up a dinosaur movie the shit practically writes itself... the level of dedication to ruining this franchise is impressive

I know right. I thought it sortof fell into the so bad it's good category though. The characters were just so pathetic and the storyline was so lame.

Posted by meriter on Aug-13-2013 02:38:

there's another one in production, 2015.. but I get the feeling that too will appeal to the lowest common denominator

Sad too I've read both the books and there's so much great material to pull from

Posted by meriter on Aug-20-2013 19:17:

So I just watched 'Sunshine' and... ugh, you know what fuck it. This forum is a ghost town

Well, I'd contribute, but the last movie I saw was GI Joe: Retaliation

It was exactly as I expected it to be.
Except the part about the lack of security around the president.
Oh, and Bruce Willis was kinda cool. And ninjas (or ninja wannabes).

also:

I'd only recommend it if you were going for a mindless action flick.

It was better I thought it would be, a nice surprise for an action movie. I enjoyed the ninja scene in the mountains. Indeed mindless action.

Posted by ludawg23 on Aug-21-2013 22:35:

I thought The Grandmaster was shit. Disappointed because I thought the action would resemble Ip Man and Ip Man 2 but I was way off.

Posted by meriter on Aug-21-2013 22:39:

fuckin loved IP man, the second one kinda pissed me off though cause in reality that fight would've been over in like 5 seconds, maybe I'm wrong, granted I don't know shit about wing chun but it just seemed to be blown out of proportion. i don't think any martial arts expert would have a problem taking down some slow meat-head boxer

So these past few weeks ive been on a quest to find relatively recent movies that are not crap...ive just watched Prometheus. I was not impressed.

Seriously, while the movie looked nice, and i appreciate the fanservice of Charlize in tight space clothing (looking remarkably like I imagine Samus Aran would...somone should film that movie! Not Ridley Scot though) it felt that every time a minute passed the characters would drop an IQ point or two. Im not the most educated person, im not a biologist, or an animal behaviour specialist but dumb as i am i would know NOT TO PET THE GIANT HISSING VAGINA FACED SPACE COBRA! Fucking hell. Also, "How do you know the engineers created us?", "I chose to believe" ... bitch turn in your science degree, you're shit at it! And finally the way the only half decent character died is the idiocy ball cherry. Who would have guessed that running from a giant spinny spaceship thing in a straight line, just like Shaggy and fucking Scooby-doo would would get you killed. Un fucking believable.

Next on my to watch list is Avatar. Considering the hype that it got, im fully expecting it to be a complete shitfest as well.

Posted by srussell0018 on Aug-29-2013 19:14:

It's Fern Gully but with CGI.

Like Prometheus, it's stunning visually, but the same old typical hollywood hero script.
