Richard, sounding much more "cohesive" and glued together now. The stab without the reverb works for me now more than it did and the vocal samples are integrated much better.

I took Duda's "80%" methodology into account and decided to just wrap this track up without overproducing tiny details, thanks for the feedback everyone!

They are both good independent of one another, but as far as a cohesive whole, I guess I would have to hear the whole track. Two lines that stuck out to me that could use a rewrite as they don't really make sense to me at least in the context of the other lyrics (not that pop lyrics always make sense, but in this case, I think there are plenty of available words which rhyme with your lyrics to choose from and try other things out)

"do you think I'm gonna move right through" don't really know what that means in this context.

"cause I know that we fight the good fight" I can think of another word you could choose to build a line around that would make more sense in this context. You all aren't doing anything noble in the lyrics. They are about having a good time.

I think partially you feel that way about the instrumental/vocals because they're not mixed right and are fighting for the same place. The vocals were an afterthought.

Move right through meaning kind of uh... "slide into yo DMs." Hahaha. And fight the good fight meaning to sort of fight for your right to party I guess. I literally wrote the lyrics in approx 10 seconds and put absolutely zero effort into them. I don't know if I'm even gonna do anything with it tbh

Either the massively boomy kick is drowning out the bassline entirely or there just isn't one?

The bass comes in right after the kick... that 303 gliding sound. It sounds pretty clear in the mix to me at least on two different pairs of headphones. I don't have a treated room or monitors though.

Thanks for the feedback.

Ah, I can see that for move right through. The second one is still kind of a stretch for me but it doesn't really matter. Overall I think they are good lyrics. I actually was kind of thinking the two main elements bass and vocal clashed some mix wise, but I don't like commenting on that stuff since I am not really qualified to give mix advice.

Fun to hear some original lyrics and vocals. Wish their was more of that on here.

i like this track, i like the kick, it reminds me of late 90s techno stuff
I really love the chords that comes in as i wasnt expecting them and also the little stab chords as well

the arrangement is really good and i love the groove - great job on this one

edit: possibly the kick could be a little too long in the tail, im listening on my headphones in work, will check on my monitors tomorrow

Yeah I like listening to this, I think you could clean the kik / bass a little, but I admire you for calling it a wrap if you so choose.

Like the little smooth pluck synth a lot. This is way louder than my 'Psycho' wip, I need to up my levels some.

I did put it through LANDR after the last version so don't get the wrong impression about the loudness, the mixdown version isn't quite as loud. I have a love hate relationship with LANDR depending on the genre but sometimes it works quite well. I am not at a point where I feel its worth paying a professional to master my tracks. Only been at it a year and not sending anything to labels for the foreseeable future.

I think I am going to see if I can get the kick/bass mix down a little better though as that seems to be the one issue that people have with the track especially on speakers/monitors.

Listening again I'd say when everything is going on the bass n kik seem a bit distorted but this is probably solvable by reducing some volume or low end in the other sounds. I don't know if you've changed the kick but it sounds good today - perhaps it's me, lol!

Agreed, the arrangement doesn't really go anywhere yet, the chords can have a more engaging pattern and the vocals might be turned off a little bit more, all to increase the tension curve. But overall, sounddesign. And mixwise indeed pretty good for after 1 year.

some deeper type stuff, experimenting with the nord

It's so god damn full and warm. The reso sweep (starting at :40) needs to be nurtured and brought to the front since it will lead this track, that is, if you decide this one is worth making a sandwich for.

cool man thanks for the feedback

was wary of pushing the sweep too high since its taking up acres of room, will try bumping it a bit and see

heres a late night jam with the Nord and Q, kinda droney stuff, timestretching loops way out etc...

This sound really solid so far Paul -> you know that already that this is not my style but (long time ago lol) I use to listen to Jean Michel Jarre and his music characteristic was that all of his sounds elements where perfectly coexist together creating this amazing melodic journey/evolution - so sounds good and still few hings can be adjusted to shift his to another level

Wow, this is some massively grooving stuff here you have Nitride. I'm really liking this a lot. Everything sounds fine on my PMC's, def good work bro, keep it up, cheers.

yep im still listening to that one, simple track with a great arrangement, love it...

Some really rich synth stuff in Nord 90 evo... love the droneish atmosphere. Has a simple groove that just kinda rolls along, is just enough to give the track some momentum along the way that brings some definition inside the atmosphere.

91 really comes into its own towards the end when that arp sound comes in.

Really cool stuff, don't have any gripes with either. Inspires me to try and fuse my ambient side and techno side together.

yeah its something ive been doing on and off, its difficult because the temptation is there sometimes to make it more banging, hence defeating the purpose

its nice to experiment with stuff like this, you can discover new techniques for yourself which you can then bring into other projects

I'm really jealous of the amazing soundcape here and in the previous one. Real proper techno sounds. Is the Nord making the decent techno dark stab thing here? Just the sounds I crave.

Nice tracks, real easy to listen to

The most cheese you'll ever hear.
This is that sports track I've made. In this edit I've removed the chorus vocals and most other vocal passages as I wanted feedback on the mix of the instrumentation.

Any mix issues?
