I've got a little bit of hearing loss in my right ear and some tinnitus but its not really bad, to the point it affects the quality of my well being or anything.

totally. i love music, deejaying, and sound, but i think i love sight better.

that, and if i ever totally lost my hearing, i could always glue two flipflops to a pair of subs hooked up to my setup and use them to beatmatch. it's been scientifically proven possible already.

The visual sense is so much better than the auditory sense.

haha everyone always says that... I really prefer, and rely on my hearing more than my sight though...

it's partially about music, but more just about auditory sense, i definitely have an auditory memory more than a visual, and am reclusive enough already to just sit at home listening to audio-books, doing some music, and chilling out

If i didn't have hearing i seriously don't think i'd be able to navigate myself around the place well at all

oh i really should listen to stuff at a lower volume though haha

Yeah, from my experience working with people with sensory deficits, I'd definitely much rather lose hearing than sight. When you lose your sight you become much more dependent on others for help...although losing any ability to perceive the world and communicate is detrimental to one's quality of life. I see how frustrating it is for people who have hearing loss. :/

It is all cheap when you consider the total investment for the camera will run you around 120-150k and you own it vs renting a Panavision for a week is 50k. It's all relative.

It's comforting to know that everything in life is temporary..

Indeed I think I should be more careful when I say that.

Unlike Plato who idealised a fully-blown ideal realm in reaction to changes in general, and messed up European thought from then onwards, the Buddha went to the other extreme: he just claimed that all we crave/want is a source of pain (because it's immerse in a continuous flux) so we should stop craving/wanting altogether and live a detached life (though not too detached because that'd be getting attached to the detachment, bizarrely enough). That's the 4 noble truths in a nutshell.

If you're anything like me, however, impermanence should be embraced (rather than avoided by turning inwards like in Buddhism or turning "upwards" like in Platonism) because there's always novelty around us.
