Oh yeah I always do. I spend a lot of time outdoors. Most of my days off I'm out of the house either down by the lake or out in the woods. Love taking it all in, hearing the world breathe as I call it. I even whistle with the birds.

Hiking is the best. I've had many memorable ones in Canada.

Such a beautiful country.

Haha, I love working in the public sector

Because the last few days have been hectic, and I had just bought some new tracksuits, I decided to rock them at work. Today I arrived at my workplace to find the coordinator of my course wearing a tracksuit as well.

Whoever thought of granting professors tenure clearly had something else in mind, but this is just as great

The only way to out do him...

teach while squatting on top of your desk.

Fuckin Amazon. Noticed a 90ish dollar balance on my Visa a few days ago - had no idea what it was cause I'm pretty vigilant about my spending. The charge finally showed up on my statement and it turns out it was for a fucking Amazon Prime membership I did NOT sign up for.

I guess when you "try it free for 30 days" on an order, it auto-enrolls you for the next year if you don't cancel before the 30 days is up. That's all well and good if you're actually aware that you somehow fucking agreed to it.

Anway, in the end not that big a deal because I didn't buy anything off Amazon after it enrolled me, so when I cancelled the membership I got a full refund.

But still. Fuckin Amazon.

I haven't tried that yet, but I sure like squatting as I have latte:

An elderly writer friend of mine called me this morning. His brother died and left him two properties in Brazil - a mansion in Rio and a penthouse in Copacabana - that he needs to sell by the end of the year to avoid paying the exorbitant taxes that he nor his sister can afford. They've hired a lawyer there, but I guess neither has the time to go and stay there until they're both sold. And hiring a realtor is out of the question. Knowing my current way of life, he's asked me if I would fly down to show the properties, secure them and handle any other business. I was just about to book my plane ticket to Montreal this weekend, too. Now I'm kind of at a loss for words. He said he'd cut me a percentage of the selling price, too. He also mentioned it helps that I'm white, as it'll probably help sell the properties faster. Talk about news from left field. I don't know what to make of it, honestly.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-07-2016 17:11:

When an opportunity slaps you in the face, you take it, dumbass. Montreal is still gonna be there in a week, a month, a year, etc.

Posted by OrangestO on Oct-07-2016 17:12:

Well no shit I plan on doing it. I'm just kind of flabbergasted right now.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-07-2016 17:41:

Oh duh. Well then cool! What an interesting turn of life events, sounds like a neat adventure!

Posted by OrangestO on Oct-08-2016 16:05:

So I'm browsing FB looking for a dance floor to get on tonight 'cause I'm feeling a bit restless.

Apparently AVB is in town.

Would never attend his shit show, but I found it amusing his ticket is nearly triple the price of what other big-name DJs like Hot Since 82 and Dixon have gone for in the last month.

Ludicrous, especially since it's fuckin' Mexico.

This little flyer was the cherry on top

Posted by planetaryplayer on Oct-09-2016 00:27:

Posted by planetaryplayer on Oct-09-2016 00:28:

Been at a wedding since noon power drinking since and I think my cousins calling in some blow..... Rip me

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-09-2016 00:54:

Oh yeah, shawarma. Nom. We left around 430ish, Ben was still slaying although I imagine he prob shut it down not long after we took off. Could have stayed longer but my rule is to be home and in bed before sunrise. Ugh, what a madman. He's totally my number one right now. Just obsessed.

Posted by planetaryplayer on Oct-09-2016 02:10:

Disappointed with the mike huckaby turnout. He was there in a UR t. But being the only one on the dance floor wasn't how I wanted to spend my night. Plus the 10$ cover allowed me to hit up Ben ufo as black up

Posted by planetaryplayer on Oct-09-2016 05:46:

ugh too much alcohol in past two days. need a huge detox. today was alright because amount of food consumed

Wow, leaving during the headliner's set? Especially someone like him?

I've never done that unless he or she was spinning bricks. Probably should adopt this philosophy, though

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-09-2016 14:26:

Yeah at the END of his set. He played for over 3 hours already at that point.

I've been partying long enough and am too old now for the staying up past sunrise nights/days of my 20s. Sleep/taking care of myself is more valuable than the last 20 minutes of even my favourite DJ's set.

I barely even drank that night.

Posted by OrangestO on Oct-09-2016 14:31:

True. I'm starting to get to that point, as well, especially since I'm not drinking anymore. But it's so hard to leave before it's officially finished, lol.

I notice I'm just becoming a lot pickier now about which parties I attend and saving my energy for those.

It's still nice to sometimes walk out of the darkness into a rising sun, though

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-09-2016 14:37:

I've always been selective. 2016 has been a stand out year - not one mediocre jam in any of the events I've attended.

I always leave so I'm home before sunrise whether it's my mind or body telling me to. Get better sleep, feel more normal waking up the next day, etc. etc. I hate wasting the rest of the weekend because I've been up all night one night.

Haven't stayed out past sunrise in years. And I looooooved all nighters, after parties, etc. I'm simply too old for that shit now.

Woke up today feeling kind of lousy and down for no particular reason. Got to work, drank some fresh coffee and played Trololo in the office watching the bemused reactions of the design nerds just now. Mood lifted. Thank you Trololo Guy.
