Do you still use those 7506 headphones a lot for reference after getting the Mackies?

Yeah I do. They're great when I'm composing or doing sound design or just when I want a 2nd reference. But I would never use only headphones for mixing.

I plan on getting a pair of AKG k240s to use as a 3rd reference... and maybe a pair of Sennheisers as a 4th... and then a pair of ADAMs as a 1st with Mackies as 2nd...

imo the 7506 is TERRRIBLE for producing, while great for djeing. Ive had them a few years now and im starting to look for something else, but i want read quality this time.

I've heard this, too. I don't feel they're terrible... I've had major DJ support on tracks done with just a pair of HD7506s. But they probably would have been a lot better had I not.

But, again, they serve well as a 2nd reference and I plan to soon get a pair of AKG K240s and a pair of Sennhesiers to use as a 3rd and 4th references.

I'm in need of a new pair of headphones for DJing and was also considering the 7506 as a 3rd reference for producing on the side. Seeing as the K240s are going for relative low prices, might as well pick them both up

Can never hurt to have multiple reference devices, i am personally saving up for a pair of 240s myself.

its not realy any point using 7506 as a reference beacuse everything sounds good on them

Or a pair of Focals. I haven't decided nor do I have the finances. When I do, though, it'll be worth it to drive to Boston to hear them in person before buying.

really well, runs better than my old pc does, but it should, as the specs are quite a bit better. takes a long time in logic before I have to bounce anything to audio for CPU reasons alone. the desk set up is from an office furniture brand called Bush Furniture...got it at a local store here, but I think they sell their products all over the place. it's a great desk set up though, and easy to assemble / take apart for any moving.

Yep, it's my basement!
There's actually two windows but they're quite small (both like the one in the 3rd pic).

The good thing about my basement is that it's quite large, and has tons of crap in it...so we don't get much sound bouncing around. Much better than my old studio (which was in a 10x10 room).
