I'm sick and bored, so here's a bunch of new studio pix.

Ooooh nice

What's the RNC like?

Transparent as fcuk. It's definitely not a character compressor. I've been using it mostly with the SSL pre when I'm tracking acoustic guitar, vocals, and sometimes bass (although I prefer the Drawmer for bass). You can run the RNC in "Super Nice" mode and get some pretty hefty gain reduction on vocals without even hearing it working it's magic. For the price, it's a no-brainer purchase for any hardware-based setup IMO.

Yeah I've heard nothing but good about them. It's definitely on my list.

I wish they did a proper rack mountable stereo link one as well.

Posted by cryophonik on Jun-06-2014 15:34:

Yeah, I'm surprised they haven't made a stereo/two-channel version.

It's not bad. I only turn on what I need, when I'm actually using it and is powered off overnight, during work hours, etc. Some of the gear only gets powered on during tracking, so only a few hours each week max, the rest only gets used for a few hours in the evening and weekends.

Impressive studio cryo.

She is overweight, but the angle of the photo and the way she is sitting makes her look chubbier than she actually is. Maybe I should start bringing her to the gym with me, though.

fuck i need a cat. It makes everything nerdy just sexy. Even i feel like cryo just cuddles the shit out of people.

Posted by DJ RANN on Jun-07-2014 18:28:

My cat is fucking awesome and I don't even like cats. Always been a dog owner but when I moved to the states it just wasn't fair to own a pet.

He adopted us. One day I'm in my hot tub (yes, bitches) and this cat shows up asking for food.

Within 6 months, he's got prime position on the sofa and only eats the high quality food. He fucking owns me now. But he's great so it's fine.

He hunts all day, isn't even scared of pitbulls. He's absolutely fearless. Sometimes I come home and there's just feathers everywhere and he's on the sofa, like "oh, you're back".

It's true. People just have this weird, uncontrollable desire to spoon with me.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Jun-08-2014 23:01:

What I wouldn't pay for a cat to sit on my lap and look disapproved at everything I make. Would always keep me grounded and motivated. Replace make and do and I just offered up a bunker buster to the nuts insult.

Posted by soulstar606 on Jun-09-2014 05:15:

thats awesome setup man. i wish i had a kurzwell. and your cat isnt fat, it's just bigboned.

Posted by PaULiN0 on Jun-09-2014 06:48:

Yeah the kurzwell looks nice but i wonder how it sounds since i never heard one before.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Jun-09-2014 23:15:

like a really bad 80s soundtrack. But not the really budget ones that had this sort of cool cheapness to it ie nightmar4e on elm street.

what? I thought kurzwell was just a controller, like a really well-weighted piano bed that didn't actually play sound...I guess I was wrong about that totally....I didn't know it was an actual piano....
