Have you used cubase ? I don't want to turn this into a cubase vs protools debate, but you can buy a new digi 001 with protools le 6 for less than a new copy of cubase sx, so I was wondering how that works out for you.

Thanks,

are you using cubase to mix with that mackie controller? or something else?

Posted by DJDIRTY on Mar-07-2004 05:25:

Yes I am using Mackie Control to control Cubase mixer. I got tired of using the mouse all the time. I use to have a hardware mixer before, but with only two synths I no longer need it. But I alvays liked the feel of the sliders and a real mixing desk, and this is as close as you can get I guess.. I am really happy with it as well. It saves me a lot of time.

Nice setup you got there, brother, very organized.

I have a Mackie mixer but I don't need it because I downsized my studio...it's a 1402-VLZ PRO. How do you like the Mackie Control? I've been thinking about getting one because yes, Cubase SX mixer is a pain in the butt with the mouse I'm not buying it unless it's really worth cluttering my small room with it, hehe.

hi vert,
i havent used cubase sx yet!

i havent had any major issues with my current setup of pt6 digi001 and ableton live; and i dont feel limited by them.

however, if i do get more into midi based recording, another daw would be a nice addition =]

I'm not sure why he owns a usb midi keyboard.. I mean he has two other keyboards, why move your keyboard for a third? You might also think about sticking your case on the floor, sure it looks cool (for like 30 seconds), but after that, it gets in the way.

Stereoimage is nothing, gearthirst is everything. Maybe he could try spreading the monitors around a bit more

very true.. you've basically waisted your $$ on those behringers if you dont position them correctly.. they must be positioned in an equalateral triangle.. there should be instructions with the manual that came with them..

Posted by Vizay on May-25-2004 09:07:

and the sound from the computer will interfere pretty much with the monitors too, and even if they are magnetically sealed...don't trust that, before you can say sallad-dallas you have a ruined harddrive
