This has very well written channels, and its groovy as all hell. I know what it needs, To me; this track sounds ready. You should definitely make a sandwich. Once this ceremony is finished, hit all your fader moves in one session. automate until your machine burns.

thanks Darek, your sounds good, i would maybe cut a little bit more out of the low end but then again im not trusting this room yet

I think your kick is too loud, and there isn't really a defined bass sound to go along with it.

Hmm it does seem to show just a tad. I know I'm contradicting to what others are saying but I think things don't sound quite as tight as I'm used to hearing from you. Not saying any of it sounds bad, far from it, just agreeing with you about your new room and that I know you could get an extra 10% out of that when you get used to it.

I won't comment on the mix as its just a concept, but WOW I think this has so much potential. I love the vocals and the lyrics, its a really good song imo Ive just played it 3 times in a row lol. Granted it needs some work but if done right you would give cryo a run for his money

This is pro work, It sounds like you know exactly what you are doing and where you're aiming, kudos to those involved. I don't have any input really, but check pm's.

Superistic - great track, very pro sound.

DariusX - also very pro production, but tbh not the kind of music i would listen.

djnitride - very nice atmosphere and progression on Techtrance WIP, it has head and tail and everything

Here's something i worked on today, please let me know what you think

This style is completely no my cup of tea so can really comment on substance and attractiveness of it but to me sounds really static and monotonic at the moment -> sorry for not giving you more substantial/detail review but I don't wont to be way of my comfort zone with this particular genre my friend.

Cheers,

Darek

That's just fine Darek. Everyone has different taste in music I'm sorry i'm not giving more details about other people songs, but i don't feel competent enough to give you guys technical/songflow advices. I can only say if i like the song or not.

Cheers

Took a couple of listens to get a solid feel for it but I believe Darek coined it best at "static" and I believe I know why.
The sustaining bass movement. IMHO, if you were to take that bassline and turn it into more of a groove pattern I think you will see a complete shift in your track.
As it is, the sustained bass on 4 notes make it appear very redundant.
Also, nexus eh..lol yea, phatbass patch needs some work as you can hear your note tranisitions (that patch has a clicking noise at the beginning of each note played. You can adjust that by overlapping the notes)

Thanks man! I'll try to do something with the bassline to make it more groovy.

I've noticed the click sound on phatbass, but it didn't bother me that much at this point - was lazy to fix it too

For me I'm not too keen on the woody knocking sound you've got going on.

Also your main synth seems to resonate a bit on the right. It sticks out a bit on my monitors and even hurts my ear a bit on headphones lol I've been mixing all day so am fatigued anyway.

Hey Andy, thank you for your notes! Yes, main synth does hurt my ears too in some parts...

yeah, bit of a grower this one, wasnt sure at first on the progression - good job

theres a lot of noise in mix somewhere, id back off on that a bit Andy

also in little breakdowns, i would loop the first 2 bars, dont go into the full progression...just build the fuck out of it and then drop it back in

oh that bit after the final break is really good, sounds really clean, i can hear the bass now - its getting swamped earlier, i think the culprit is some pad or something - keep the pad in but try and EQ it so its not blocking the bassline?

yeah thats my advices , reminds me of Diving Faces a bit - i wouldnt mind having a go at mixing this Andy if your up for that!

Andy, couple of things which I will try to do before I would go on shopping with this track:

1. I would keep this chords from 7th bar till the 8th bar.
2. in 1:09 (or at least 1:33) I would introduce another instrument (best would be piano) playing some sweet melodic part for more attractiveness.

The rest sound good so far

Darek

Nice mixing, but the chorus is not distinguishable from the intro / verses because you sort of just continue the synth sounds and lines. Slightly euro pop / Eurovision so unlikely to hit the spot in terms of EDM.

Really nice Andy, liking those wide subtle synths. IMO it could be better still with slightly more imaginative note placement for the leed as in parts it's a bit repetitive.

Great grove and mixing. I want it to really pound from about 40 secs, but it stays a bit static. I personally do not like the drop as the pads spoil the excellent grove and space.

Oh man, you are really getting old - just have a bit of faith in me Richard, lol just kidding, this will sound good on the end of the day

Cheers brother,

Darek

my WIP track

Been working on this one a bit, worth finishing? Mixing quality is probably horrible since I'm in a big living room with hardwood floors and no treatment so I do a lot of it via headphones. Looking mostly for feedback on the construction of the song itself, melody, development, etc. but any and all feedback welcome!
