Talking John O'Callaghan style bass line

Does anyone know how to make a bassline like John O'Callaghan's signature style? From tracks like.......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx_FbWXL5A8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYDfhVfStPg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlQF9slArrQ (About the 1 minute mark)

His basslines are so bouncy/groovy and sound so good without any other elements playing. I know he's a genius but can anyone give me any advice/tips on how to create a similar sounding bassline to his? How many layers? Midi patterns? Sidechain (LFO Tool settings)

Thanks in advance

Theres more to this than just his basslines, its his drums. His kicks are always so punchy and an off beat sub drives his tracks.
Take the first example you posted, drag it into your DAW and use his drums from 28sec to 55 and you'll see what I mean. Add an off beat sub say from sylenth, 1 osc, saw wave 8 voices retrig on, little bit of drive, lp filter and compress hard, adding this alone will make that 30 second sample come alive. If its not warm enough add something like Rbass but keep the intensity low you won't need much at all. The mids that then come in after that is for decoration, there's so many arp patterns from the likes of spire that do that job. The delays are important for this to give you the width, sounds like he may use ohmboys you can hear something fizzing around the top end although that's probably on his hats.

His productions are quite old school in the way he mixes, very clean and always collapse well into mono, very pleasing to listen to.

Talking

Yehh i know what you mean with the percussion, adds a lot of groove. I'll give that a go and see how i get on. Thanks for the advice! I get what you mean about his mixing style. Its very clean and sounds simplistic (Not a lot of channels) to me. Similar to Giuseppe Ottaviani and PVD. I sometimes think that having simple processing/less channels is harder as you have to be more creative/skilful.

I'm not at that level so think maybe i shouldn't try to replicate him.
