I was registered here since 2004 but forgot account email (was more of a reader than poster), so made a new one, hoping for good time, meeting some people again, and learning a thing or two.

As for me, I'm 'bedroom' producer (hobbyist more like), but I like what I do, even though I don't have much time to get my head around technical side of the matter right now, I'll eventually get there on my slow pace. That's just quick intro, since I can't find introduction section. Anyway back on topic:

No comments needed, just posting to get the feel what people doing up here, what they like and to say hello

Cheers, and Merry Christmas.

This is really excellent! I like the chords a lot!

Sorry If didn't give my all with hardware but TR-8 and System1 isn't compatible via bootcamp. Next wip will be only hardware for sure.

I don't really know what else to echo that hasn't already been said. It's just really boring to listen to. I don't mind your robotic perc FX things though. Have you ever tried to make something that isn't trance? Why don't you try to make something more rhythmic, like a tech house tune or something?

After getting my computer fixed, I think I'm finally done this.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Dec-30-2014 10:02:

No sample yet, but...

I've just started my first tune in about 3 years that I might actually finish. I've only got the structure of the intro, but it's already 3 minutes long...

Holy yes. This is robot sex music. That build out of the break is just filthy and nasty and I've had to listen to it multiple times. It's amazing. MOAR PLS.

Now that it's updated: This is lovely. I'm not 100% sold on that sample of the woman going "ooh"--the production on it is great, it's the actual sample I'm iffy about it. Maybe something a little softer, closer to a sigh, but... I dunno, just my taste. And it does make a lot more sense once the beat kicks in, pushes the sound closer to house than trance, so it works better there. I can't wait to hear the finished track.

Sean, I would try to lift a bit your low freq as this so far is not translating perfectly on my JBL and B@W speakers - just my $0.02, the rest is very sweet and got some serious release potential

I'm assuming you mean the volume of the sub, not the actual frequency it hits? I'm struggling a bit with getting it perfect because on some car systems I've tested, the volume it's at now is cutting it close to being too much, and overwhelming the rest of the track.

heres a thing i came up with, sorry for not obeying the rules but I think I have some credits still from a year ago.. this is just for fun

Posted by deegee on Dec-31-2014 17:17:

Hey meriter, I like it! Sort of dark and grim. Would love to hear where it goes.

Seandroid I had to come back just to listen again. I want that song in my phone so I can listen to it while I'm out and about! The drop from 2:26-2:30 is just too good.

Posted by Richard Butler on Dec-31-2014 17:18:

Sean that's pretty nicely done, love the 2.27 / 2.30 little pre drop riff in particular.
I'm listening to all this stuff at the moment, trap and such like as I enjoy all the little cuts and edits.

Meriter that's a decent bit of techno and you maintain the progression well. Give it a massive open hat using unusual sounds at the drop I think.

Good stuff, definitely finish it. I can easily see this being released and people dancing to it.

Posted by meriter on Jan-01-2015 01:34:

hey thanks for the feedback, might end up making stuff like this for a while until I get a real computer. One thing i'm learning with techno is you gotta finish it fast or else it gets very tedious to listen to since theres no real musical content

Yeah this sounds really good, very similar to an early sam sharp aka sander van doorn production, I'm liking it.

thanks juan, tried finishing it tonight but got nowhere, will try again tomorrow when im a bit soberer

Great start for a track, very atmospheric. Kick sounds fine, would love to hear a little bassline thrown in there.

Not my thing but sounds very proficient. Low end seems fine also to me.

Now this I do like, I could really picture this in a club. I like the little vocal that comes in as well, fits quite nice. Good job!

Now for some of teh tarnce that I know you guys all love...

I've got a feeling it sounds like something else but I cant think what? Anyway, it wasn't intentional.

Cheers and happy new year to you all!

Sounds like a new Sean Tyas production if you ask me. Mix is pretty good and everything else overall sounds good.

really like this, nice dark sound, kick and bass working really well together.
Would like the hats to be louder and a bit more dominant just to fill out the top of your mix space, thats it...

not bad but the track is straining somehow, im guessing its too much limiting or compression on the mix

Sorry for not responding right away as I was having too much of fun last few days - and yes, you could just adjust a bit your sub-bass level or if you really know what you are doing on mixing and mastering level then you could probably make some slight freq lifting in there.

Posted by Andy28 on Jan-01-2015 21:29:

Thanks guys...

@evo.. I thought the same thing as it don't have much dynamics. Can't figure it out though.. The master isn't heavily limited and I don't think I have too much compression going on in my tracks. The kick sample is loud to start with and I've mixed the bass to match it along with boosting low frequencies.. Maybe its too much and its taking up too much headroom?

Well, melody vice sounds pretty good and would like to know where or how you going to evolve this into a full length Trance track with memorable break and part 2 after it lol - I would also watch your noise level channel (you know, the one which almost everyone today's days are using to spice up a freq with ) as this could/may ruin your sound clarity and may looks like you over-compress entire track.

Cheers,

Darek

Posted by Andy28 on Jan-01-2015 21:56:

Thanks Darek..

Well what I have would be what comes after the break so structure wise I need an intro then the break which would lead into this.. As for the noise.. It all comes from the saws and I've already shaved a shit load off from them.. You might be on to something though they don't sound so good on their own and sound strained as evo put it.

That could just be it..

Cheers
