Check at 0:55

I tried to make it loud as i can without making the mix muddy.

Made from scratch with Logic 10.

Sounds like a good intro but you gotta drop the BAZZ after dis. Dunno if you have a saturator or multiband compressor on that mix but you gotta make some room.

Sounds good for what it is, maybe would like to hear it slowed down for some dub techno.

Pretty curious how this mix is translating

Better than before but the bass needs some rework, it's clearly the main element but still has too much space and at points sound a bit weird with too much detune or something like that in my opinion. Idea is very cool but i think needs a bit of adjustments.

Juan Palino's untitled wip:

The problem with this track is the problem of most of your tracks, builds to nothing, hasn't got any peak moment. It is very interesting but the high expectations quickly decay when you see it goes forever.

Since melodies is not your thing you could use that as an intro fade it slowly to a break and then drop it with a tech trance bassline, heavy percussions + shakers +hats and some synth stabs that could work very well.

Evo8's track:

Not really my thing this kind of techno, bass may be too present. At 1:00 the drop needs some previous build. The hat sample isn't my cup of tea either. This is what Ben Klock plays and never gave it too much attention don't really know if it sounds as it should.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

And this nearly finished track and last mainstream tune for a while.

It's really subtle, maybe a little too subtle for me but that's a nitpick and completely depends on what you were going for.

This is my new thing which I am entirely prepared for everyone to hate on principal but I figured I'd post it anyway I'm so bored of all things four on the floor.

I like that bass/kick/drum roll pattern in the middle. It doesn't feel completed, and could use a bit of funk.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds like you made this track in garageband.

No Offense, but this sounds like a two year old made this track.

sounds good to me, i dont agree with rodri about the bass i think its fine but the high-mids and highs could be more prominent, sounds a little dark overall imo, slanted

the percs that come in at 1:50 are kinda awkward like they are out of time or something

translating pretty good and a really good track. it does sound slightly muddy/squashed imho but listening again maybe not - that bass is pretty huge after all so i think i would leave it as is.

and a word on the breakdown, really nice mate i can see that working in a club situation as there is some interesting sounds in there, overall good job man

So I got my cirklon and being more or less DAW less, here is a first Jam getting to know all the specifics, it's all live work so very dirty and loose feel, but going quite deep (when you're into it)

quite repetitive with subtle nuances, which, you appreciate, or not anyhow let me know....

Posted by meriter on Sep-22-2013 21:02:

im planning on releasing these two tomorrow and could really use some last opinions on the mix, specifically the low-end, i said this before but all i have to monitor is kinda broken sony headphones, the foam is fucked up so i get different bass response depending on where they are sitting

here are the two tracks, i know they are weird but any advice would be great and dont be afraid to suggest like +/- 0.5 db adjustments, looking at you raphie. I was just going to upload the 24 bit wav and let people download from soundcloud

Sean, mean sound like a crossover between dubstep & trapp (trapp patterns with vowel sounds) got my head nodding thoug

Posted by Raphie on Sep-23-2013 07:34:

JP, my challenge with QB is that the beat doesn't lock into a groove with the leads
Skipping through the song, it's not locking the groove in my mind in 4 counts, neither in 8 or 16 and then i lose interest. Good production skills and leads though

I dig that. It's like one of those good demos on Youtube where a dude with more money than sense is showing off all his cool gear really well.

Oh wait.....

Really not bad at all for a pair of busted headphones.

I'm missing a little bit of information in the mid/highs (perhaps around 8k).

I also think the very bottom end is perhaps a little bit undefined, although how you remedy that on your monitoring setup is anybodys guess.

These are just possible improvements. The mixes are generally well balanced overall.

thanks for the input, im surprised you can even tell anything with the soundcloud compression. It's supposed to stream as a 128kbps mp3 but even converted tracks in itunes sound 10 times better than on SC, i dont know why it eats up the audio so bad, either way thanks

My future: finding the ideal 16 or 32 steps
Regarding sense, P08 sold, tempest back, nord 4r on the way
