What an adorable "LV" slipmat!!
Not mine, took the photo in the store.

After approximately 3 years having left the scene, I bought a new set up and am excited to start up again! I'm pretty much de-rusting on all the basics but am aspiring to build a hybrid vinyl and ableton live based set.

2 x Technics 1200mk2 with Ortofon Concord Digitrack Carts [Decks]
Intel Macbook with Traktor Scratch Pro [DVS]
Allen & Heath Xone:4D [Mixer]
Sony MDR7506 [Cans]

A few quick shots below, having just unboxed my new mixer

Haha thanks man. You have a good memory, actually it was a djm800, pair of cdj800mk2's, pair of cdj200's and a few midi controllers (including the remote sl zero you mentioned).

How in the hell do you have the money for a 4d just lying around like that

I sold my skydiving gear when I quit the sport easily $5000 worth of gear. Plus I have a sweet job.

Edit to add:

Also the Xone:4D only cost me $2100 because I found it for cheap online and AGIPRODJ Price-matched it for me. Those guys are really committed to excellent service and they got it to me for that price brand new, factory sealed in less than a week...no b-stock/refurb/etc.

Here's mine:

Xone:42
Xone:1D

Nice setup D@VE! I like how A&H have redone their mixers with the grey. Looking sexy...

+1

Love the setup and love the new look A&H have given their mixers. It was one of my only gripes with the mixers.

I'm actually contemplating getting a styleflip decal for mine to give it a black/something darker look.

hmmm that sounds interesting! do they have one of those for a xone 92 rotary?

Posted by D@VE! on Oct-19-2009 16:30:

Thanx i'm verry happy with it

Posted by Cro_Addict on Oct-19-2009 20:13:

Well here is the new setup, after selling the CDJ-800's and getting the 2D.

Xone 92R
Xone 2D
Traktor Pro

Posted by enydo on Oct-19-2009 20:48:

Not as spiffy as all the new laptop setups, but here's my new / first setup.

They do indeed.

CLICK ME

I'm trying to look for examples of good skins. I think someone posted one earlier in this thread. I'll have a look and edit this post if i find it.

EDIT: Found the examples i was looking for in a different Xone 92 filters thread.

Here you go. I think they work pretty well for costing $59. Problem i find is getting the design right. The tools they provide are good but it's still tough to get it exactly right not knowing what the end outcome will be.

I'm very fond of this setup. Probably because I had the exact same setup myself when I first started off 5 years ago

2 1200 MK3D's and PCV 275? if I'm not mistaken?
Great turntables and a very solid mixer. Still have mine as a backup unit.

Posted by enydo on Oct-19-2009 23:09:

Correct, except they're the MK5s. I really love the mixer, just feels smooth and solid.

oops, should have known with the markers along the pitch fader.
An even nicer set up so. Absolutely love those kill switches.

Posted by dj_macgyver on Oct-25-2009 17:00:

alright, so i got it all hooked up and some kind of arranged today. it's not that tidy yet, and i'm especially unhappy with the lots of cables that are just in the way of everything, but it's working, and i'm able to record sets and all on it

feature list:

13" macbook pro running traktor scratch pro
audio 8 dj soundcard
2x technics sl-1200 mk2 (for controlling decks a & b)
vestax pmc-50a mixer
numark stealth control (for controlling decks c & d)
good old sennheiser hd25 headphones

the furniture is from ikea... i like it very much, only the mixer is a little too big to fit onto it nicely. my old one was a little smaller, and fit in perfectly, but i had to replace it in favor of four-channel-mixing

i also take this setup out with me when i go djing in clubs etc. and what i like about it, is that it's very flexible. you can have your minimal setup, controlling two decks with the stealth control, you can have a classic turntable setup controlling two decks, and you can have the full-featured four-channel killer setup. of course the latter is my preferred option
