I have another question. Seeing as you have the new technics phones, and the pioneer 1000's side by side, which do you think is better?

Nope, crank the volume up to max (hella loud) and has no effect on the decks

Considering they are on 2 200W speakers with 18" woofers, I do admit I am surprised it doesnt cause any problems

My guess is the wood is heavy/thick enough to absorb most of the vibration before it gets to the decks.

But that's just a guess

Cool to see more and more people in the Benelux have those "super OEM" turntables, i have those SynQ's too and i wouldn't trade them for anything else! You still have the original Stanton cartridges?

I think we think too much alike. We both have the same carts, and other stuff too Kinetic.

hehe...I guess great minds think alike

the combined weight of the table, decks, amp, small speakers as well as the fact that the peice if wood that rests on the speakers is only attached to the legs via screws not directly defers the vibrations.

either that or kr00t0n can't tell if it jumps

Thats my guess

hey, im new here. figured ild start off showing you guys my setup. really basic right now. started mixing seriously about a month ago. so i have very little vinyl. i have a few coming in that should be here soon. but basically what i got is 2 numark tt1625 and dm950. the mixer should be replaced here fairly soon.

Posted by DjVash on Sep-02-2004 07:52:

Didn't anyone warn you about dj-in-a-box offers?

Posted by Rememberence_ on Sep-02-2004 14:15:

Hey, gotta start somewhere! Better than not starting at all right? BTW, loving the JBL subbie, 12" ?

Posted by djsaryn on Sep-02-2004 16:36:

they did warn me about them. but for the money it was the right thing. especially since i didnt come into any money for a while afterward. it was close to a month before i could buy some vinyl and then another 2 months before i got the stereo system.
actually that isnt a sub. its just a regular eon 15. its not working for me very well at this point. because its huge. and my room isnt. so it sits under the table, and when i turn it up, i can hear the playing track though the cued track in the headphones. hehe. so im not using it. its from a friend and i didnt pay for it. so im gonna keep it and use it for shows and such.

Money is always an issue, but my experience with other people is that you don't learn shit with gear like this, because you really have to start all over again as soon as you get a DECENT table in front of you.

Besides, a lot of very decent beginner turntables are OEM product (same product, sold under different names). I don't know the word in English, but the "lagers" (those little bullets in your TT arm that prevents wear) are pretty good quality. You can even properly adjust them. THESE Numark babies got it all wrong and that's a shame.

Nice setup! I like that furniture, real shame about that Pioneer mixer though.

I guess you do not like the 600. Easy to mix with at least.

No, I don't. I've had too many 600's returned for repair (the faders are crap, they always die on you). Especially when you've mounted in a flightcase you get a free electrical cooking plate. You can bake an egg while mixing! (ok slight exaggeration).

But the headroom in the headphone amp isn't right as well, the sound gets deformed. It's not as terrible as Behringer's clone (DFX-700 or something like that), but I wouldn't wanna work with it at home.

Oh well, it can get worse. I've recently had a Stanton mixer in for repair (I believe it was a SK-2F). That is one shitty mixer.

An excellent combination of gear (although you could've bought something cheaper then the MK5 ).

One fast question: Do you have equalizing when you listen to your headphone cue? We have to modify our Xone:62's to make sure that there's EQ on the CUE.
