Tranceaddict ID Hunt #5 - John Digweed - Fabric, London 12/02/2005

I am proud to announce the return of the completely unofficial Tranceaddict ID hunts. People like them as them gets them a free set and I like them because it gets stuff IDed.

So this one is a bit of a mystery. The set is entitled "John Digweed - Fabric, London 12/02/2005". There has long been arguments about the date of this set and the author. Many people (myself included) think its not a Digweed set at all. I am saying its possibly a semi-amateur set that got mislabeled. This is not the thread for that argument, TA has plenty of threads full of arguments, go argue there

This is an incredible deep, dark proggy set that is an ID minefield. Some great tracks in here - atmospheric prog, some progpsy and some downright evil tracks. There have been a few threads on TA about it over the years, this is a compiled version of their partial tracklists with a few added and times fixed.

I'm especially looking for 06, everyone listen to that. I cant find any information ANYWHERE about the name above. Any help with that would be GREAT. I'm also after 11, 14, 15, 16, 18 and 22 (22 is phenomenal).

The all important download link died years ago but I believe this Youtube thing is popular nowadays and means I don't have to host the file.

24 tracked IDed in 12 years on this thread so far!

Updated 24/2/2020. vampirul_18 is my new hero. Turns out tracks 1 - 5 are from the set "Bucky Fargo - Infinite Overcast November 2003" then mixes into something else. So we have confirmed that this is most certainly not a Digweed set.

Update 07/06/2020. Holy crap we did it.

One of the filthiest sets ever. Mixing is unreal. Everyone needs to have this in their collection.

don't mind if I do. Doubt I'll be any help whatsoever.

Would be nice if you upload it on Sendspace.

good set. however I thought the first half was a bit boring. but the second part which is more upbeat is great. loads of darkness there. reminds me a bit of that amazing Anthony Pappa @ Innercity 2001 set.

How about kotuha or archiv.to hosting? There will be no problems with slots etc.

Posted by basd on Oct-25-2007 18:17:

Downloading. Probably won't recognize a single track, though

28 should be a remix of Interflow - Storyreel (on Baroque). Don't know which one though, and it sounds sped up a fair bit.

Posted by Redd on Oct-25-2007 20:33:

Aaaaaaah ffs, this made me fill out 4 pages of bs on megashares because I thought I had to to get the file. WELL NOW I'M CURRENTLY SEARCHING FOR A CASUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH A FEMALE FROM 20 TO 29, AND MY INTERESTS ARE MUSIC AND CLUBBING.

You must be new to the internets.

Thought so, but wasn't 100% sure. Be sure to mention it's the dub then, as a vocal mix exists as well. I'll have a more thorough listen to the rest of the set later, only skipped through it for now.

Seems strange that nobody can confirm this. Fabric is a known club, the date of the party should be plastered all over, and attendees should be able to recognize some tracks at least. So what's the problem?

It's like the killing of 2Pac...

Posted by epdarks on Oct-25-2007 23:52:

Digweed did indeed play @ Fabric on this date. Rumor has it this is not the set he played. I did some research on it, but could not find a conclusion.

Posted by nsamadi on Oct-26-2007 00:28:

Gave it a quick listen...LOL..the only ID I might slightly know is...there's a Matrix Sample used on track 2...."Do you every have that feeling you're awake but still dreaming"...or something like that....that quote I think is from the Matrix....

This doesn't sound like Digweed to me.....and I doubt he'd use a Matrix sample
