???

Posted by djdawn on Sep-24-2003 16:09:

see the "help on how to post a pic" thread in chill-out forum or faq forum.

basically, you need to have the pic on the web first and then link to it. You can't upload it to TA

*Noob question* What exactly is battle style for?

Posted by Vert on Sep-24-2003 23:20:

Turntablism

Two good things:

1) It gets the needles out of the way, so you don't hit them if you're scratching or doing other turntablistic endeavors.

2) It takes up less room across.

Two bad things:

1) It takes up more room vertically.

2) Sometimes wiring can be an issue since it usually comes out of the back, which is now the left side since they're rotated, so on the right tt you can have issues with the mixer and the wiring being in the same place.

Personally, I do like to scratch it up every now and then, plus the only way it'll fit is battle style...so the choice was pretty easy.

The main negative for mixing, is that the tonearm gets in the way of the pitch slider. Thats why I don't do it..

I guess so...but at least with my tables that's never a problem . I've never hit the tonearm when i was going for the pitch slider or anything. But..that's just me/my turntables.

i have them battle style, but i want to change my mixer
is that a vmx100? how does it perform for scratching (cut time, faders, etc)? i wanted to buy a vmx100,200 or 300 but i havent tried them so i really cant decide yet
peace
edit: just saw it was a gemini mixer, anyone has any comments on the behringer one?

2 technics 1200 mk2
1 gemini ps626 pro 2 mixer
1 sony mdr v300 headphones
1 denon dn2100f (not shown)

Posted by IntegraR0064 on Sep-25-2003 01:54:

Actually.....

My roommate has a vmx300. it's fine...pretty similar to the gemini when you have it all the way to sharp curve.

I cant imagine seting up my tables that way... I like to ride my pitch and rest my hands while doing it.

Posted by DjJade on Sep-25-2003 15:53:

i had to do that becuase my table last year didnt have enough room...i kept hitting the tonearm and messing everything up

it was friggen annoying
