He also lives in Beverly Hills. Not sure if you're familiar with southern CA, but entry level houses in that area (if you can call it that) cost upwards of a million dollars if I recall. Combined value of all that equipment...maybe a few thousand.

Nope, not even close.

Posted by the_gamemaster on Oct-10-2007 18:08:

It was intended to be a joke, making reference to the fact that he is able to buy thousands of pounds worth of equipment he doesn't really need. I do know that houses cost more than the price of 1 laptop, 2 CDJ1000's, and an efx1000.

Talk about trolling...

I bet if most of you had millions you'd easily put it into your favorite hobby/activity, hell I'd buy 4 macbooks just to have 4 macbooks; each doing their own task. When you've got money, the line between necesitty and a non-necesitty diminishes and when you've got that money and you want something you can afford easily, of course you'll get it. What the hell would you save it for?

Very nice gear Simo

Noone 'needs' any of this crap.
But when you are in a position to be able to buy things, then thats your call.
You can view this thread in two ways:
1- a chance to look at how others set their stuff up, and the choices they make, and use it for some inspiration
2- A 'my cock is bigger than yours' contest.

You would hate me if i post up pics of mine now.... so I won't. Selling half of it anyway.

What do you think of the Firebox?

The Firebox is great. I've had no issues with it at all. For the price it can't be beat. Sure you can buy an M-Audio (or other brand) card with more outputs for the same price or cheaper, but from my research and from talking with others those cards tend to have their issues. I bought mine new on Ebay for $275 shipped. Just make sure you won't need more than 3 outputs and you'll be okay.

If I could take it back I would have paid a little more and bought a used Motu Ultralite........

can help set it up into cubase pleas?

Posted by jupiterone on Oct-15-2007 21:39:

Haven't posted in a while, updated my setup. Got my Lemur a few months ago. Had to get a new external soundcard which came in today, I was cleaning my MOTU and it fell on the floor and didn't work afterwards. Really such a shame, the card was amazing. I'm happy with the M-Audio though.

The template is just a template form Jazzmutants user-area. I'm still not finished with my own, been experimenting a lot.

nice... how much did it cost you

Sweet setup jupiterone!

What do you think of the lemur?

Posted by jupiterone on Oct-15-2007 22:42:

Loveeeeeeeee it. Only grudge about it is the amount of memory it has which at this point is 4MB. Which is really more than enough depending on what you do, but it can lag if you fill it all up to 4mb. Which is why I'm building my own interface so I don't use it all up and only put in what I need. But it's so smooth and pretty.

Also really anticipating that Jazzmutant is releasing the Dexter Firmware for Lemur users, which I can't wait for!

The MSRP on the Lemur is $3,000. Worth every penny though.

Posted by Fait on Oct-15-2007 22:50:

That's awesome.

I've been debating whether or not to try and build a controller, but considering i've never done anything similar to that before it may not be the best idea.

Sweet Jesus that's great man.

i got the idea for sideways speakers from this thread... yes, i learned to beatmatch on that

in all seriousness, i am going to order Vestax VCI-100 for Traktor this week, i think i'm good enough and ambitious enough to use it... i'm also shopping around for a desk (and a new computer chair as well)

Well...I think starting out on two shitty Numark TT-100s and a crappy mixer is much worse mostly because the motors are farely weak and one of them stops on occasion. Anyways, cheers to starting on shit! lol

Haven't decided yet. The problem is that they are almost 10 years old (were manufactured in 1998) and even though they are top notch players I wouldn't get more than a few hundred bucks for them. To me they are worth more than that, especially regarding the fact that I still use them alot when mobile djing.
