Funny Way to Ask a Girl 0ut!!!

I need help from anyone ASAP!

My friend Patrick met this girl Ashley in class and didn't have the balls to ask this girl out in person the whole semester but instead wrote this letter to her for the last day of class tommorow. I say he should give her the letter and could be the lead-off hitter for all guys out there and see how things turn out. Tell me what you guys think (prefferably girls). Here's how the letter looks....

Hey Ashley,

I hope you don’t think that I’m some kind of weird, four eyed fool for writing this letter. Actually it may be a little ironic for me to write one….since we did meet for the first time through note writing…lol Anyway your probably wondering why I’m even writing this letter. Well, first off…I’m bored and I should be studying for finals. Second I wanted to tell you something. I think you’re a cool and very cute girl. Actually I think you’re the shit (as these young kids like to say these days). As the great Patrick Aksan used to say and I quote: “If I were a fly, Id be all over you cuz you’re the shit.” Maybe it’s your sexy nose ring, or you’re coming into class late asking if there was a quiz. Or maybe it’s just the fact that I’m soooooooooo lonely and I need a friend (ha ha that was a joke….no really it was And maybe I’m just ignorant or can’t take a hint but you never did answer my emails that I sent waaaaaaaaaaay back when. You know…..the ones that asked for your hand in marriage…or the one asking if you wanted to go to Hawaii on my yacht…...or maybe you didn’t get those. Hmmm well, if you didn’t at least I know that you got this letter.

Ashley, I have a question for you. I was wondering if you’d like to have a nice romantic dinner at McDonald’s with me this weekend? (I’m messing with you. It should be on Friday cuz they have better deals during the weekdays) But in all seriousness. Would you like to go out with me? Maybe go dancing or take a nice walk on the beach. Id like to get to know you. See what makes this East coast babe tick. Grant it… I’m not the sexiest guy, or the strongest, or even the hungest….. Fuck it…I’m as plain as a bagel that you sell at your store. But I can promise you one thing. You’ll have a fun night out. Man I sound like a damn advertisement…..see I even have a little marketing skills to offer you. So what do ya say Ashley? Will you do the honor of going out on a date with me? It took me 11 weeks to nurse the balls to be able to ask you….. and if you say no. It’s ok. Ill have another 12 weeks in Accounting 300 to write you a better letter/proposal.

I hope you enjoyed reading this letter as much as I enjoyed writing it. I also hope that you don’t have a boyfriend cuz I’m sure he’d REALLY enjoy reading this letter. And the fact that I just spent study time making an (_,_) out of myself really doesn’t help. I hope to hear from you soon babe (hopefully sooner than later). My cell phone number is 1 323 XXX XXXX and my email is paksan32@yahoo.com Hopefully if all goes well we will be talking soon. If not than I wish you a great 10 days off from school and Ill be awaiting the very awkward moment between us in Accounting 300. (I’m just kidding) Have a great break!!!
Yours truly,
Patrick “Pizda” Aksan

What do you mean by that?

Posted by Nell on Jun-11-2003 06:38:

dude i dont mean to critisize as i don't know your age, but im 20 and if i said the line..

"to have a nice romantic dinner at McDonald’s"

id expect the girl to laugh at me. i dont mean to offend you in anyway, sorry if i came across as harsh.

your mate also sounds very insecure. girls dont tend to go for this. tey and sound more confident, to the point, but sweet.

The whole point of writing that Mc Donalds line is to make her laugh.

i say you make it more anonymous and give the letter to the girl yourself then there will be a big surprise at the end when its acctually some other guy whos asking her out and not you

The Mcdonald's touch is good imo. But I kind of agree with some of the above reviews ... it's ok to be self deprecating once or twice (shows humility/you aren't full of yourself), but don't overdue it (shows insecurity/possible issues).

take her to taco bell, then she'd be having "the shit"

Perhaps I wasn't clear here. My friend Patrick has been talking to Ashley in class throughout the semester as colleagues, but finally decided to ask her out by writing the letter you see above. Do you think this method will work?

Posted by J.L. on Jun-11-2003 06:54:

talk more about her and less about yourself...

no girl wants to hear a guy write/talk about himself all the time

be more confident also. girls like confidence

i know it's a compliment but calling someone "the shit" doesn't really sound sweet or romantic

That's more like it. Keep'em coming guys! I'll be back in a hour to see more of your pointers.

i am serious!!!

LETTER never works....... this is not f'#%$ing hollywood movies

Perhaps I was also not clear. I meant it would be a funny surprise if YOU gave the letter to her, but it was still from your friend. You just have to be sneaky enough not to elude to the fact that your not the one who wrote the letter.

Put yourself in the girl's shoes. I know that if I got that letter from a girl (or - if they go that way - a guy) I would probably think that he/she was pretty wierd rather than the sort of person I'd be interested in "dating".

There's too much information there. It sounds like he's fawning - like he's babbling incoherently because he's too nervous to put anything down concisely. Also, he seems to be aiming at the "pity" angle a bit too much with all that self-depreciation (whether it's tongue-in-cheek or not). Not a good idea.

Tell him to write something that's to the point and vague enough to be mysterious. Something along the lines of:

Dear X,

I'm Y, you may know me from class Z. I'm just writing this note to ask you if you would like to go out with me on Friday, because I'm too shy to ask you in person. It's no big deal if you don't want to, but I thought it'd be great to catch up after school's finished. My number is blah and my e-mail is blah.

xoxo

Y

There. Nice and casual, too the point, and it leaves the girl wondering what sort of person you really are (mystery is good at the first stage of dating). The letter he wrote makes him sound desperate and a tad peculiar. No offense to your friend, of course, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but I just can't see his love letter "wooing" anyone.

Having said all that, is it worth pointing out that he has a better chance of success if he - y'know - asks her face to face? I mean, he's going to have to speak to her on the date, so what's the big deal about speaking to her a few days beforehand?

ATTENTION ALL!!!

Okay Guys thanks for helping my friend Patrick out!!! This is what's going to happen. He is still going to send the letter. However, he has made the necessary changes based on all the help that you guys have given him, except for the few of you that said not to send it at all.

I just talked to Patrick and he wants to thank everyone on this thread. He also wants to let you know that he is friends with her and the chances of being friends with her after giving her the letter is great. It's safe to say that not all will be lost.

He has agreed to tell everyone on this thread the result of what will happen, which will be posted here in this thread as soon as he finds out from her. He will give the letter to her 9 hours from the time this was posted. So for all of you curious people out there, keep coming back here for all the details. Again, thanks for all your help.

By "Your friend Patrick", do you mean "You"?

And don't write "lol" in the letter for christ's sake.

This is a Joke right ? That letter sucks ass , if i was a girl id prob laugh my arse off for about 5 years then die of laughter , i hope she a comical side coz id love to see her face when she reads that, id steal a poem off the net a real touchy one and leave your cell number at the bottom , with a few kisses and a name, more on the current letter, you say that your not good looking and that you dont have a big dick a girl does not want to hear that unless she is marilyn chambers, u mention words like shit these arn't shakespears words are they, u mention a beach , thats quite good as a beach is quite sexual but you mention Mcdonalds the root of all evil of take aways also too commercial , u say your sooooooooo lonely , jesus u have to think that u may be a looser and have no friends why else would u be lonely. just go and talk to her ffs, fucking amatures

Posted by dishman on Jun-11-2003 10:23:

Give her that letter and he's got two hopes of getting a date.....and one of them is bob
In essence a letter seems a good idea,it can be romantic if written properly. However it's more appropriate when you actually know the person and as a first approach he'll struggle, especially as he is writing it to avoid face to face rejection.Read Renegades post again. He seemed to make a lot of good points.Anyways go for the direct approach, far higher chance of success.
Good Luck,
Dr Dishman

rofl, is that a nickname? don't know much russian but i know what that means...

Anyway about the chances of success... I'd say it has an excellent chance of succeeding if she is really ugly and lonely too. But if she is the average gurl, she would probably be more impressed (and amused) if the guy asks her in person.
If he had more time he could've used *anonymous* letters (secret admirerererer stuff) to intrigue her before approching her.

Btw, I love the mcdonald's touch...

Oh, P.S.: I hope that's not his reall email address cause that's just gonna fill his mail box with so many interesting offers...

Posted by bassaholix on Jun-11-2003 12:02:

This is most defenately not funny...

LOL... not good to write in a letter, perhaps email...

I was bored... yeah that sure makes her think you put her in your #1 priority... hmmm

THINK b4 u even write... let alone speak1

Seriously what he said ^

If you want a funny way to ask a girl out use one of the following:

"Fuck me if i'm wrong, but are u Elvis?"

or walk up to her, point to ur dick and say, "Well it's not gonna suck itself is it love."
