Fully understood and agreed.

Rich Franklin is the UFC equivalent of the San Antonio Spurs...if they only won 46 games per year.

Posted by Lews on Feb-06-2011 05:22:

HOLY FUCK

Posted by shaw on Feb-06-2011 05:23:

FUCK. That really looked like we were going to see a long battle. Vitor looked like he actually had his number, and then BAM. What the fuck?!

Posted by shaw on Feb-06-2011 05:25:

Damn. I wish that could have kept going. Hell, Vitor was winning. First time I've seen somebody refuse to play Silva's game.

Really a shame it had to end so early with one unexpected kick.

Posted by iammesol on Feb-06-2011 05:30:

Unbelievable. Anderson is no joke, despite how everyone feels about him. I hope the GSP fight comes to fruition!

Posted by Boomer187 on Feb-06-2011 05:31:

Phfft, Anderson always has a plan, vigor was nowhere near winning

Whoop.

Posted by shaw on Feb-06-2011 05:35:

He was ahead in points. That's all I meant. Anderson had failed to either take complete control or to goad Vitor into getting impatient and stupid. By halfway through round 1, he usually accomplishes one of the two.

Posted by Boomer187 on Feb-06-2011 05:41:

I was thinking about the judging halfway through. I did have belfort winning only because he landed 2 kicks.

Posted by shaw on Feb-06-2011 05:42:

Hardy har.

Posted by iammesol on Feb-06-2011 05:52:

Two unbelievable moments tonight, and an added bonus with Cerrone's "fuck you" to a cheating Paul Kelly. I'm well satisfied!

Posted by shaw on Feb-06-2011 05:55:

Joe rogan is talking about gifs. I think that's my cue to turn this off.

This is what you should be watching anyway. Post Fight Presser!

It all makes sense now...

Posted by Renzo on Feb-07-2011 07:58:

1. Jon Jones has made a fan out of me. Shogun fight should be ace.
2. GSP versus Silva is so damn interesting. Not 100% sure the smaller GSP can handle the size difference, but nobody is. Either way, I'm excited as all hell, so Shields better not upset.

1. How the fuck were you not a Jon Jones fan before now?!
2. It all depends on GSP's sub defense imo. Anderson is too easy to take down because of his kicks, but it's what happens on the ground that makes the difference...

You tipped your hand like a chump poker player at a $5 table in Atlantic City. You may have beaten Vitor, but in the process, you LOST your edge. By beating that husk, you gave me the last page of your playbook. Revel in your time, (because) it ENDS the night you face me. I will mow you down like autumn wheat, AGAIN.

The Silva knockout was impressive. Everyone in the room went nuts after that happened.

if silva fights gsp don't expect him to try and kick at all. the most you will see is knees in the clench...george is too good of a wrestler to start throwing wild kicks...silva will end up on his back if he does this.

The catch weight fight would be interesting...i can see st pierre just working the jab until he sees an opening to take him down...the problem with this fight is that it will most likely be boring. When Silva fights primo opposition he does not take chances and is the most boring fighter in the UFC. They are both "counter move" fighters...so unless one goes on the offensive, i can see 5 rounds of a lot of nothing happening.

totally agree, while GSP is so impressive in technique i don't think the fight would live up to the hype, just a lot of blah.

Posted by shaw on Feb-09-2011 00:43:

Silva only has a 1" reach advantage on GSP. Wouldn't have gussed that.
