What kind of segments do you like to hear on radio shows?
Hi everyone my name is John, on air I go by the name Mr Canada. I am a dj & radio host on College radio in Toronto.
My show is called World Series: Canada, & it airs every Wednesday at 1am on Fusion Radio. We play Canadian music new & old, from all genres. We also feature interviews with Canadian music makers, music industry professionals, & music fans.
I always like to hear the opinions of Canadian music fans, so I made this thread to get some opinions.
What kind of segments do you like to hear on radio shows?, & What do you think is a good length for the segments, in order to keep the Canadian music fans interested in them? Feel free to make suggestions.
Crank calls made by Canadians to other Canadians.
All the time.

I think it would be awesome if you could get BMAC on your show. He's been doing some really cutting edge stuff lately. I know he's really popular around here, so you'd certainly get a ton of listeners. Check this new track out, if you could do a mashup with avicci - levels, it would be EPIC, bro.
I changed my mind.
Now I want to hear 20 minute segments of farts interspersed with 5 minutes of pigs squealing.
also...

You could play sounds of people farting in tiger suits to really bring it all together too.

How can you be so quick to dismiss the idea? Don't knock it till you try it. Are you sure you aren't American?

I guarantee that if you ran a regular 20 minute segment of people farting in tiger suits that I would tune in.
So your audience would effectively double!!!
NOW tell me it's a bad idea!

If you spent 2 mins describing the tiger suit, I think the idea would certainly come across.
Tip: Use really descriptive words like strapping, vivacious, dexterous, etc.

| Originally posted by The Ear Absolutely!! This segment is getting better by the minute! & I've got the icing on the cake too. Have the description sung by a tone-deaf Scotsman!! This cannot fail!! |

I already made a fantastic suggestion guaranteed to hold a Canadian audience with a recommended length for TWO segments!
Clearly you are not interested in catering to the interests of Canadians.
Are you sure you aren't American?
