Absolutely. I haven't worked a gas grill in years. I'll tolerate the smoke and the lighter fluid smelling hands to have that shit cooked right

My BBQ is a 'hybrid' of sorts. It's a gas BBQ, but between the flame and the plate/grill are charcoal bricks. If I want direct flame-to-plate action, I can shift the charcoal bricks to the side and grill away.
Win/Win, IMO.
