Definitely don't feel the need to catch Norton in Stone either. Sucks all around.

so i finally had a chance to catch Biutiful. Solid movie. not one of his best (i think 21 grams was his best movie), though this movie is better than 97% of the movies in 2010, so i give it 2 thumbs up.

the movie, like his other movies, is slow paced, yet doesn't jump between timelines as much as his previous movies. so the movie is very comprehensible for the average movie goer. after watching the movie, it does make you think about life in general, and how to treat death.

// edit

forgot this movie technically should be considered early 2011, rather than 2010, i am sure this movie is going to be better than 97% of the movies in 2011. btw, i am a big gonzalez innaritu fan.

^i still really want to see that...

I was totally unfamiliar with inarritu's name but looking at his imdb, i've babel, amores perros, and 21 grams...all of which i enjoyed. i'm even more excited for biutiful now.

i watched 'monsters' last night. i found myself very very attracted to the female lead...it was a cgi-monsters oriented movie that didn't rely at all on the cgi (thank god for that), while the monsters had some lovecraftian qualities to them and were genuinely frightening at times, intriguing at others. the movie did well with suspense.
at times it seemed like the movie had a message regarding immigration from mexico to the US but apparently the directors discredited that. at one point the protagonists asked their guides "what do you think about the wall? will it keep the monsters out of america" to which they responded "it's nature man..." Both characters became quite likable by the end of the movie, and the story was good. check it out

Just read that Universal refused to greenlight At The Mountains of Madness because they wanted it to be PG-13... well that's kind of depressing. Del Toro and Cruise both have said that they're still very much interested in making it happen, at least.

watched this tonight.

If you can appreciate bad sequels, this is one of them. entertaining if you can forgive some bad acting/plot/ everything.

I don't understand the hate for Predator 2. If you like the first one, the second is just as good - and it was different enough to warrant a sequel, if you ask me. Predator in the big city! C'mon.

Also, Danny Glover. And the fucking Alien skull in the ship at the end! I may like Predator 2 more than the first.

Who? Daniel Day Lewis or Michael Mann?

for those who dig industrial music, Genesis P-Orridge, and the groups "Throbbing Gristle" and "Psychic TV"

only caught the first 30 minutes so far, but i liked the soundtrack to the documentary.

i'm sure this will be liked by those who are fans of industrial music.

I miss Sleazy a great deal.

And Genesis is kind of a brat.
