Prins Thomas is the Scandinavian power-viking who keeps recreating the big bang, with, well, big banging noises, in the galaxy of electronic dance music: and after his lecture at the Red Bull Music Academy he'll take those noises to the dancefloor of The Social. Whether it's the psychedelic instrumental-electronic extrapolations of his work with Hans-Peter Lindstrøm, or the expanding output on his own Full Pupp label, or the dusty contents of his diverse crates: each DJ set is a journey. Typically, this Nordic jock touches down in the apartments of esoteric 60's pop producers to bang on the floorboards with glass taped to tin boots; flies via Cologne to roll something nice and rumbling with krautrock's finest; segues in a jangling boogie remix full of synthetic Kiss-funk; before touching down in an echo chamber constructed by a classic prog-rock-electronics explorer. Andrew Allsgood will bring the kind of rooting-for-cosmic-truffles sense that only Disco Pigs in Space possess: inspired by golden era hip hop, the dirtiest platform-shoed power chords from back in the day, plus the rub a dub stylings of Scientists and Professors, Kings and Princes (Purple ones too). Andy Capp, the boy from London, Ontario brings his wild yet controlled approach to riding through ruff-edged disco, boogie, electro and other beauties from the '70s and early '80s: like a BMX rider, he's got the technique down pat but he's not afraid to let his jeans hang down a bit to reveal his boxers.
