I need to add a further break and then a drop on the end.
His original title was 'Sometimes I wish I lived in London'.

Any thoughts on this so far?

Wow, that's a pretty cool interpretation. I listened to Caleb's track first (very nice piano piece) and was not at all expecting a DnB remix. It really works, though. The mix sounds nice and wide. The bass seems a little low in the mix, although, I'm listening with my iPad/earbuds at work, so don't put too much stock in that comment.

Speaking of Caleb and remixes, he and several other artists, including some TAs (e.g., Ben Acosta), remixed a song that Avonlea and I wrote many years ago and did an excellent job on it. The song is called So Far Away From Me and we decided a few months ago to make it available for remixes. I hope this isn't out of place, but if anybody here is interested in remixing it, let me know and I can make the remix pack available. You can hear the original and remixes at:

Darek, any chance you could give me a precise idea of what you mean by this?

Do you mean I am selecting sounds that are clashing or what?

Do you mean the limiting / loudness is harsh? As ever this is a WIP and so I only 'slam' it through a basic limiter at this stage.

Thanks for the compliments too, but I would like to pin down what you mean as you've said this to me a few times now. I am A/Bing against your excellent track (the last on here) and can't see much difference in terms of sound separation.
I have this notion you might have better ears than me though so I welcome your view as to 'sound separation'.

BTW - I love your dialect (things like 'you are danger man'), can I ask where you are from? I've long guessed you hailed from central Europe?

Cheers!

Dave - thx Man.
Don't forget our cunning plan to do something as we discussed the other day. I do have a trance track in case you might be interested in one of your harem doing the vocals.

Ha, you got me here man, I was just playing smart guy and I'm not, you call my bluff

Seriously now - there is few ways of getting this dynamic at right level, personally I would (and this is my preferable way) working with EQ (and you also can work on your sounds selection for clarity) to get each sound a designated space in the spectrum - this is very compact explanation which should give you an idea of what I usually do but I run sometimes with the problem of not being able to get to satisfactory (at least for me) level of quality for my release work - at this point I have to do "full reset" on it and almost like start this whole process all over again to the point of be completely happy form final product. If you have a time you can go through my two track of "Babylon" - the first one is the modify version of my older track which was OK but not to the point of me being exited about lol - if you know what I mean:

And then I decided to go for full reset on it and within 5~6 hours I created this version which really hit the spot for me as far as drive, vibe, clarity and attractiveness

So the motive of the story is -> don't be afraid of completely rework your track if you not 100% happy from it - also remember "Simple is Beautiful" or "Less is More"

Let me know if this help a bit Richard

Darek
