Well I forget what the original situation was but I remember talking to him about the night when I saw Beyer was booked in Minneapolis, but some house promoters were the ones who got the booking.. so I think that maybe fell through and it will be one of his parties now instead.
He has booked some solid techno for the last while.. names like the Advent, Surgeon and a bunch more that escape me now, plus when Joel was touring last month. Seems they have a thriving little techno scene there! Collabs in a few months as well.
speaking of Adam.. Tony Rohr had this to say about playing with him at Awakenings.. hehe Tony will be the Pulse featured artist later this month on edmm.ca
"Setting up at the afterhours, I got a text message from Adam saying that he was showing up with a friend. By the time they got there the party at the club (Magazin) was going off!!! Adam asked me "You think it would be ok to spin?"... I told him, "I don't think the promoter is going to mind if Adam Beyer shows up and starts to play!" Haha"
^^
no kidding!

heheh seriously... and then goes on to add:
"Adam continued to rock the shite out of the club, following Adam I played on the same upbeat style he left the crowd wth and took it to another level. It was wicked. I noticed there was some filter sweeps and FXs going on that I wasn't throwing in there... it was Adam! He was working the DJ mixer playing along!"
Tony is playing with Chris Liebing in Ibiza tonight! He's had a busy schedule this summer.

I'm sure everyone went buck wild but I've seen bigger DJs than Adam walk into clubs in TO (already on the bill) and bump the residents and everyone thinks wtf.
I, however, would certainly not complain about an unexpected ADAM sighting

The Slam/Jeff Mills set is great too. I've always liked Mills' style. This set would not only be great to hear...but dance to as well. Lots of layers of delicious beats. Tasty! (moving forward a bit from the 75th minute Mills is seamless).

That Chris Liebing set is awesome. At least the very end and the first half. From 50% to about 80% marks in the set, it's just one boring beat.. but the other parts of it are THE definition of techno (ESPECIALLY that track that is ending by the halfway point of the set, can anyone ID?).
So, artists like Liebing? I'm gonna download a bit more when I'm at work.

You would really like Christian Varela, but I'm guessing Jenn already recommended him to you
