I think it sounds really good so far. Personally I like your vocals. To me they have a unique character, while still sounding professional enough. I really admire your talent; songwriting, creativity, uniqueness, good sound design, original lyrics + vocals.

There is some top notch music going on in this thread and it's a strange feeling because hardly anyone knows about the top tier label ready artists we have posting in here month after month.

Ok...so, I posted a part of this track on the forum and could not project my issue so I am moving this to the WIP area to get some feedback. I guess just posting the whole piece might be better however..
Now, it seems alot better.
The issue is this.
The bass you hear around the 15 second mark till about the 30 second mark and the bass you hear at the 31 second mark is very different. Obviously because of the filter sweep,however...is it to distinguishable when it comes in. At first, it was imho (some peeps couldnt hear it) but now, I may have remedied it but I can still hear it somewhat.
I need some phattness in this piece and cant seem to bridge the gap.
It is a D&B track in which I really haven't ventured to much into.
Any ears on this greatly appreciated!

Ok, some feedback
1. very heavy on the bass, if you do some serious +EQíng on the low end, turn it back a notch
2. The "wobble bass" is quite bright EQéd at 20sec it becomes too bright / distorted, I would leave that a lot more neutral, then you also don't need to close the filter that far and because of that the attack stays more in the groove with the rest of the track (as that's what I understand you're trying to say?, it almost sounds reversed at certain filter setting)

Mix closer to the source, less difference between the filter open/close and it should fit a lot better.

best thing would be reset your mixer and try to mix with the filter and volume of the parts only and maybe some low cutwhere needed, but no EQ, you are abusing EQ as volume for cutting through, try without EQ and see how your faders work out differently
later in the track the wobble seems to run out of sync?

GREAT TRACK,

There is something not right with the dynamics though i.e. at 0.56 there is a huge volume bump half way the chorus and there are simmilar inconsistenties like these later in the track as well.

EQ wise i would have made a few different decissions: bit less 6-7kHz bit more 2.5 - 3.5 kHz area for midhigh presence. now it sounds a bit tubby with exagerated treble. not much but once you start putting that in you will hear the difference (gentle shelving)

But man oh man what a track! when going the extra mile this is BBC ready material.

I played in a little classical riff hope that's allowed as its real old?

Any last critiques?

Firstly this is a very good track, love the vibe.
For me the sweet spot on the bass is at around 1.14 - 1.18. Prior to this the distortion and zizzle is eating up the track. Perhaps very gently automate the filter around that sort of freq.

Thanks Raphie and Richard for the replies you two.
Great ears and advice...here is another go.
I have never thought about EQ'ing twice or rather two Eq's in the same channel. I use abletons default eight but then added Iso's Eq and use the Q setting to isolate the peaks. And wow...i had no idea.
Now, some things definitely are more revealing for sure.
Wondering if that kick isn't to prominent now though.
I found out was giving that bass so many issues. Some how I had a Dynamics chain going on ::scratches head::
the instant I turned it off it remedied.

So I've totally re-done the Luton Football Club song and as the football season is soon upon us I damned well hope this version is ok musically.

Not sure if the main synths in the drop sound modern enough?

RAPHIE this will be played over a fairly shitty football ground PA system, in terms of mastering what would you look to do as I worry it will sound crap.
Conversely it also needs to sound ok on I-phones etc, so quite a tricky mastering job eh?
