He is obviously testing out how far into commercial sounds he can reach within his career arc. The thing that makes it interesting is that at the same time he can still play incredible techno sets such as the one from Awakenings ADE 2023.

I think Mauro Picotto was doing something similar 20 years ago, until he had to withdraw from heavy DJ'ing due to hearing issues.
