+1 great pic, would love to have it as a background.
Too bad I'll smudge up my monitor screen trying to mix with the picture.

Well I don't think I can match wiregen's pic (has anyone got a spare £1000?) but I think I might be the first person in this thread with some mk2 800's, not quite the same but hey i like them!

What's the difference between the MK2 and originals?

Nec: So far so good, I had a mk1 800 and I definitely prefer the feel of the mk2's jog dial (its supposed to be in line with the 1000 now but i've never used one so couldn't really say). Haven't used any mp3s with them yet which I guess is the main feature setting them apart from the mk1's, i'll have to burn some mp3's soon. Other than that, no major changes from mk1 but the little things (new display etc.) just make it a nicer deck to use.
DJ Elf: No massive changes, the main ones being mp3 playback functionality, jog dial changes (metioned above), improved display and bigger internal memory (I think its 10 cue points per cd now).

Who makes those kill switch racks? I'd love to have some kill switches on my dnx-1500...

Intimidation
Long discontinued.
When they rarely appear on ebay, I buy them
TOTAL kills- they are great.

Damn! figured as much.
I'd like you to know that you inspired my entire afternoon. Basically my afternoon was spent taking apart my old gemini PS-540i in an attempt to figure out if I could basically cut the kill switches out of it and wire them into the inputs (or possibly the effects loop) on my dn-x1500. I miss those switches...
In case you're wondering, the verdict was inconclusive. It will definitely take a lot of work though, should I choose to try it. If only I had a wiring diagram for this mixer...
