Tyler Biggs may be appropriately named, afterall, he is a 17-year-old bohemoth at 6-foot-3 and over 200lbs., and he also is a big time player that comes through in big games. Need proof? Well he scored the gold medal winner in Team USA’s win over Team Ontario in this years World U-17’s, and finished the tourney with 6 points (5G,1A) in 6 games. This season, while playing with the Team USA Juniors in the USHL, he collected 11 points (6G,5A) to go with 54 penalty minutes in 24 games. Not bad for a then 16-year-old playing against older competition. Last season he suited up for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, and put up 40 goals and 86 points in 72 games. Biggs is committed to play collegiate hockey at Miami University, which means Redhawk fans have even more to cheer about after their Frozen Four appearence this past year. He is a pure power forward, with soft hands, good foot speed, drives to the net well and uses his size and strength to his advantage. Biggs has great hockey sense, something passed down by his father (Don) who was drafted by the Minnesota North Stars, and had a great minor league career. He truly has untapped potential, that NHL scouts will be drooling over come next year.
