Finally saw it myself and have to say it was utterly outstanding.
It's actually a masterclass in subtlety; direction, acting, casting, costume, lighting.....just superb. Hurt, Oldman, Strong and Firth just knocked it out of the fucking park.
The freakiest thing about it, having grown up in London not too long after that period is how damn well they nailed that point in time. I remember it having that distinct feel, that grit, those houses and cars.
Incredible. I think I'm going to watch it a second time just to try to catch more of the nuances.
