whats wrong with seeing the bpm? everyone covers it up? please excuse my newbness, im not a DJ, nor do I know hardly anything about it.

If you look at the bpm counters while you mix in the dark (like a club,) it starts to mess up your retina, and you will eventually go blind.

I also have the SMX-401 and am very pleased with it. The eq's are extremely good (full cut) and the sound quality in general is excellent for the price. If this is your price range, and you mix trance/house, I would definitely reccommend it, there's nothing else in the price range that is suitable. Everything else is directed towards turntablism.
