would you imagine the chaos the team would be if they listened to the fans? we would be stuck with halak over price.
too soon? |
Hard to say, Halak's stats aren't horrible and considering he doesn't have much of a team in front of him who knows how he'd be doing if still here. And I'll fully say Price is working out amazing this year but it's really the first year the entire responsibility in net is being put on him. I'm wary of young tenders playing hot their first major year (Raycroft, Theodore, Anderson, list goes on..). But no one can say if that situation will happen to Halak either and at this point in time keeping Price looks like it was a smart call.

PK can handle the heat. You can tell during interviews. He's also go Price to back him up mentally. I remember seeing Price in interviews with his brim hat covering his face each time he got off the ice. You can tell he got scrutinized a few years ago while Halak was here but now he's doing much better. PK will get through this, but he's not in any worse shape than Price was.
Leaf fans need to be patient like other teams... although its not very easy... |
I hope he does and you're absolutely right he's handled as best he possibly could so far. But time will tell and I can guarantee you if this kid was playing on some crap team down south they'd be giving him the time/room/support needed to mature without the nastiness he gets here.
Leaf fans def need to be patient but I don't blame them for not being so. The whole post-lockout situation has been dragged out so freaking long with no results I'd be livid as well if I was a fan. Ferguson should have been fired years before he was, Burke shouldn't have declared the rebuilding phase over as soon as he signed on... It's all hindsight now but there's really no reason the most valuable and biggest funded team should perform so poorly for so long.
