I love the psytrance feel of this, is it going to end up a psytrance track or is this the buildup to something else? The bass drum distorts a little for me when turned up to max volume but the production sounds good apart from that.
Here's my latest WIP, I fear I may have overproduced it now. Maybe I should step away for a few days, haha.

Really diggin' this man. Kind of an *interesting* intro with the dubstep/electro elements...Especially with what comes after. *mixed feelings on the intro*
I thought that saw synth at 2:20 would end up being really annoying...but then it fit right in...
Likin' the light melodic piano accentuation as well.
*thumbs up*
Also, an elaboration of some-sort would be cool with the piano. Somewhere after the 2nd breakdown where most of the layers are filtered out. Trance pianos with space to breath can prove to be quite interesting. |
Thanks man, I see what you mean with your last point. I tried a few things already, I'll see about fx'ing it more during the break for extra 'breathiness.'
As for the buildup, I was wondering whether to scrap it and make it traditional (as in, normal uplifting trance buildup,) or to make the current one match the climax more. Hmm.

Well those are just my *opinions*. Do whatever makes you, the producer, happy. I might find the intro sorta weird/out of place, others might like it. But if you like it, then that's all that really matters anyway.
With regards to piano breathing room, I simply meant that, given some space to be heard without as much backdrop, pianos can be quite interesting all by themselves, along with any other sort of bright/glassy sounds with 'verb. (I find after a breakdown is the most natural time for piano elaboration/improv. leading into a bridge or build)
Didn't mean to imply that any additional FXwork needs doing. Was just throwin' the idea out there for use in a break/bridge if you plan on rebuilding the theme.
