If it was me?..oh you don't want that..lol well, again, you have the dreamy dreary vibe already but I have always liked a sidechained pulsing bass undertone on ambient tracks. As well a deep sustained huge sub. I also dig the barely able to pick up reese floating behind the sub ala 7lions-Tritonal duck

Sounds good man, as far as this statement "I have always liked a sidechained pulsing bass undertone on ambient tracks" - this may be something I will be able to check out and see if will adds some melodic/atmospheric value to this remix, thanks!!!

I still have to work on reverb levels for some of my instruments as I notice (and know from my perspective) that if you have (and I do have) more then 3 elements/instruments with reverb on it than this may cause some little mud in your freq and will require some additional tweaking and properly allocating space for each one of them - if you know what I mean?

Edit: "Again, LOVE that kick (slight verb?)" - no, but I was thinking about and for the reasone stated above I may not wont to do that but I will have to glue those drums with my kick a bit better so "glue compressor" is my friend

This remix was about exposing the smoothness and lightness of Amy vocal and with some addition of leads (which I was trying to create some form of conversation between them like in 2:05 and more with piano parts) I was able to create this melancholic but vibe driven atmosphere.

Cheers,

This is fantastic. Just lovely to listen to.

Hey guys,

finaly had time to start some work on the new intro for this track. I found it really difficult because anything i do sounds wrong because im so used to hearing it the way it was originaly, but a few people did say that it sounded like two songs, hopefuly now its starting to sound like one song! Im happy that the new intro and first breakdown shaved some time off the track which I wanted to do.

Anyway, critque away! Im not after mix comments cause i messed around with levels while doing the new intro so im more after arrangement, etc, advice. Thanks guys,

You me not really like my comment but I wont to be really honest with you and tell you things which ultimately going to/should give you additional tools to produce something which have much more chances of surviving in today EDM market - well I guess you have my point lol.

For me this whole 7+ min track could be compress to 3 min and give you the same feeling of knowing it very well - so what I'm saying is that after 3 min mark a lot of people/listeners will be getting bored and probably stop listening to your music as you stopped grabbing their attention and not adding anything new/interesting to your creation - you as producer have to figure out how you going to entertain them for as long as is your track length is - at this point you got my attention for about 3 min lol.

Cheers man, hopefully you are not taking it personally

Darek

Funny enough, I quite like it. The phrase leading up to the main breakdown though, I don't like how the energy slowly dissipates. I'd keep the energy ramping up to provide more contrast, and something quick--maybe just a bar--of build to the reverbed kick and intro of the bass synth at 4:24.

ha, its all good mate, the heart takes it personal but the mind doesnt, just gotta tell the heart to STFU for a minute while the mind contemplates suggestions and advice!

Im not sure I could get it down to three minutes, I can try, each of the basslines in the main three parts of the song are different melodicaly and tonaly, so it may be difficult, but I'll give it a go.
At the end of the day Im still gonna go with what feels right, regardless if it goes over 3 and a half minutes, etc. I dont think Id wanna sacrifice the 'feel" of a song to meet a time standard.

see how i go with it!

Hey,

im a little unclear as to which part you dont like, are you talking about the section where the bass filters down, kick drum fades out and its just the pad/choir playing?

Yeah. That kind of lead-in to a breakdown can work, I just don't feel it works in this particular track. I'd keep the energy going, and build up to cutting the kick instead of fading everything out.
