I've been on an insanely long and grueling hiatus but I'm making a bit of a come back as I've been able to work on some new stuff lately after having a crazy year this past annual. I was downloading some a cappella and decided to give Robin S - Show Me Love a whirl. It came out a lot different than I thought but I think it sounds pretty cool. Not sure how close this sounds to what you're used to hearing from me but I hope you like it.
Cheers & look forward to hearing some of your new stuff,
Jesse

Watup Evolve, long time no see man.
Dig the vibe transitions. Listening closely I hear the different elements you are using in those transitions. I respect that,at the same time I am wondering if it is because I am listening to closely or if it is a minute thing however I am wondering if it isn't a bit to much. The reason I say that is because it kind of got me lost as if it was a continual search for that "sound". Almost seemingly like a song that was a 6 minute mix, which I am unsure if that was a purposely/creative decision to compose/arrange your track but this is how I received it.
I would also check your kick with that sharp higher frequency tone,it is not imo flattering to the kick.
This mix could also use some sub from somewhere be it the Kick or whatever.
First minute to the 02:46 mark is imo the "meat". Techno at heart with a good solid groove. I very much dig those filter changes to but If I could recommend that your automation makes it flow better. There are a lot of cuts that are very noticeable and dries up the mix rather quick. In example, the low pass at :25 comes in REAL fast.
:27 & 1:33 That snare sounds like it's resonating through a cave. I would drag that verb down and hit it with some EQ
These all of course are my opinions and things that I noticed during an extended listen. I know how hiatus work, and it is tough getting back going some times. At any rate, welcome back and look forward to hearing more from you

your tune sounds wicked. all the synths, pads sound sweet and loving the vocal sample with delays.
what did you make that lead/pad with just before it breaks and what reverb you got on that? real nice
The only one thing it is missing imo is bass, I kept expecting it to kick in but it never came. looks like your kick is peaking at around 100 hz and although it has some sub in it too, its not enough to fill out the bottom end of the tune on its own IMO. Even just a simple one note thing to underpin everything would work. IMO of course
you might try a very slight high cut with a steep curve on the high synths/samples, to make room for the hats. Maybe boost the hats a bit in volume or eq to help them stick out a bit more. IMO
thanks man! -i had a feeling the bass wasnt quite right, not sure if its the kick or what, this was a first draft so hopefully i can improve it
that lead is OPX-ProII into some weird fx on valhalla space mod i think
Aye thanks mate. So the story behind all the crazy new sounds is that I've been using Omnisphere whereas before I never used it! So I'm kid in a candy shop type feeling as it's all Omnisphere in that breakdown. I really have to dial it in now though after having a chance to play around with it and not just throw it in the mix for the sake of having it in there, got to admit it's a lot of fun.
Having said that though, I think I will strip the track back and focus on that techno groove you were talking about. I did all the drums and everything by hand so it's nice to be able to get that groove going. I'll focus on that and take it from there.

good low end transients, sub rolls along nicely. gets a bit loopy with that before-the-measure-ends off-beat snare. dope atmosphere with the pads/strings though. its good, vocal adds to the atmo nicely too. that snare kinda throws me off though. maybe rein it in a bit? it's really solid stuff especially the mix, good work.

I like, vocals fit the track nicely. Track Needs an extra arp or something to Progress though. The whole mix is very smooth and gentle, not in bad way, but you could maybe use a bit more 'oomph' in the kick.

WIP. it needs more. Im trying to go for less of a song, more of a banger this time which is a little uncharted territory for me. Any thoughts very welcome
I like it before the drop, not a fan of that bass-y Garage line but I guess it works. That's always been my least favorite part of Garage

Don't have much to add to Systematic's feedback, but I feel like this track has big potential, everything works together very nicely to my ears. That acapella man, so good . Its just got a good vibe and groove to the whole track.
Only suggestion is I feel like the reverb tail could be tweaked in the parts of the buildup where you bring in those big sounds. To me, it seems like you want to emphasize them a bit more with more density and a bit longer tail. Nothing excessive, but I feel like you could get more impact out of it.

Love the atmosphere and overall concept. I know this is probably meant to be mixed in a set, but if not I would suggest doing some editing of the chords, using the same sound except reversing the filter envelope direction and turning it into more of a reverse sweep which leads up into the chord hit. Pairing that with some drum break edits could sound very cool. Regardless, the overall idea of the track sounds good to my ears.

Was jamming on my bass and it turned it a song. I guess its more of a rock / electronica type of thing

That is cool, as I'd like to hear it stay in the genre of Scion-car commercial I'm not a huge fan of the 80s synths in this. How about some vowel forment FM synth type stuff to give it that modern sound? It does good though.

Word, if I go back to that version I will give it a shot! I just decided on a totally different re-work though. Hopefully it sounds better, I did tweak the sound/melody though.
