Yeah, pretty expensive considering the first time I stayed at DoubleTree for DEMF 3 years ago it was $169, last year $229 (After getting it reduced from $269 by talking to the manager) and this year $269 again.
But the hotel is top notch! They're not bitches about who can go to the room, they don't do the room card to enter or use elevators, it's a nice short walk, the rooms are amazing. Suite style with two separate rooms so you can be sleeping in the back room and not hear people partying or hanging out in the front.
And you can easily have 6 people in there, very roomy rooms, so if you split it that way, it's not that bad.
And the DoubleTree staff is always top notch, free shuttles to the festival or wherever you want to go, Greektown, Old Miami, afterparties. So you save on cabs. Parking was free since it's a holiday weekend and there is are tons of side streets.
The shuttle even took us to the liqour store one time.
And finally... the beds are probably the best beds i've ever slept on.
How much are you all getting rooms at the Greektown and Holiday Inn for?
