Well, let's say a significant part of it otherwise it looks like we like all current stuff, which at least for me is definitely not the case

the stuff that dominates the charts today is utter guff.
this is the last good trance tune i've heard. 2012 i think. it has class - something todays trance fatally lacks.
problem is, anything decent like this doesn't fit in with the rest of the tracks made today, it's like a self fulfilling prophecy of shite music - you need to conform to the sound of the day to be relevant in the scene, and that sound unfortunately sucks ass.

Did such tracks ever dominate the charts then?
I did enjoy Airwave's set on the radio yesterday evening, but I don't play such tracks as it's too relaxed, doesn't mean I don't like them.

I am actually totally with you matey, most tracks I hear these days just isn't worth the name 'Trance'
More than 95% of the tracks I come across when checking for new tracks and releases just isn't worth mentioning, this includes the majority that dominates the charts. It's not disrespect, there's simply no musical quality within these tracks compared to what we would call 'the real thing'. And the argument used is always that the genre is evolving, when its actually quite the exact opposite if I compare todays mainstream sound to what was the standard 8-10 years ago (on a musical level). That's also why the majority of actual quality trancers have been totally overlooked all these years.
But how would you define something as 'the real thing'??? Musical taste is always so personal, everyone has its own view on that I think... Biggest problem today though is that too much music is being called 'Trance' when its just not

Difficult to describe, I posted my some of my still favorite tracks of long ago at the second page. Nowadays I'm mainly focused at uplifting, and the good uplifting ones I still consider to be real trance, as I would have considered it in 1994 when I started listening trance.
This is my current favorite, awesome change from beautiful and small to uplifting and synths combined with a piano:

Yeah, for me it's the same! But since 1,5 years there's also a lot of progressive trance being released which has the same amount of melody and emotion within the tracks, bit deeper and darker on several occasions as well but non-trouse, so that's good Nowadays there's a big variety of quality tracks from about 125 to 140 bpm

Fuck this dutch rehashed shit. Trance is dead. The good shit ended in 2000 and all of it was English. Either live in the past or cut your fucking wrists. It is over. Golden oldies or die.
