Really dig the vibe you are portraying with this. IMHO it has a Daft feel to it and a great "swing" touch and the vocals [well we all know what that does to a track]
I cannot really give any negative feedback in all honesty, this track is solid. I will say that the piano is a little to straight and narrow. Maybe some added delay or a small bit of sustain? Just my 2 cents. Great work!!

This is a new track I am working on. It is still unfinished and un mastered. However, was looking for some feedback. Each song I have been doing as of late takes on a different approach from the last.
This track is at 140 bpm, I didn't want to make a dubstep track but somewhat filled with bass. Yes, you are seeing this correctly, it is a Katy Perry Reboot. I have nothing against her but in most normal situations I would not listen to her music. The coincidance was the track was pretty much already set in motion and wanted a acapella to go over it. I stumbled upon this and it seemed to fit the mood.
What I am curious is, is this track to stable enough on the bass end. Is it to much? Is the track in itself to repetitive? Guess I am just looking for an overall opinion. Any feedback greatly appreciated! |
yeah its ok, the vocal is good quality actually did you do much processing on it?
i think the drums are bit a bland maybe - the snare isnt really cutting through
im kinda of waiting for it to kick into some mad wobble type bass or something as seems to be par for the course with this style

thanks for your feedback appreciate it
i think yours is not bad - keep working at it
I like what you did with the vocals
i feel like it needs a proper bass line, what you've got now sounds half way between a low string sound and bass
if you look on the freq analyzer you can see its quite thin in places, like around 200 hz and also missing high end where the hats should be. comparing your track to a pro one in this way is really useful if your still learning (like i am too)
i think the kick coul;d be fatter, and you could experiment with layering snares/claps for a more interesting texture
for example just on my wip i have 1 clap, 1 finger snap and a snare. The main clap is an old skool garage clap for character - then there's a low passed snare for bottom end. added to that is the finger snap pulled forward before the beat. also the second snap on each bar has a shorter release time for small variation.
these are treated separately then all 3 are bussed together and compressed
Definitely read up on compression - things like your bottom end of the track need to be consistent in volume and loads of other uses

I agree with evo, it needs a stronger snare and bass I think. Right now the track doesn't stand out much to me but is OK.
