Yes, and I am arguing that the value is not high enough to justify the cost. Even if I am not spending the money, I know how much it costs. Spending 1200$ 10 hour flight in Economy/Coach is already a huge amount of money, even on round trip.
I am arguing something totally different than you to be honest. I am arguing a cost/time ratio, where you are arguing a cost/value (comfort) ratio. They can be intertwined, but I think that the time/value ratio when they are related is very important. Since airplane travel is so quick, say compared to rail travel, then it makes more sense to spend less and get less value, because the total time is much less.
