I watched The Departed in its entirety for the first time recently. It's a great movie.

Also The Pianist, which was amazing. Adrien Brody gots a mighty large snout on him. But the man can act.

It's a travesty that he won the Oscar that year over Daniel Day Lewis' performance as Bill the Butcher. That's right up there with "Oliver" beating out "2001: A Space Odyssey" in 1968.

Hoffman really is the "actor's actor". He's brilliant in just about everything he does and he's so dedicated to the craft. If you've seen Charlie Wilson's War, for instance - he plays a supporting role to Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in the film, but manages to steal every single scene he's in.

He's an amazing actor, but I didn't think that was his best role. Pretty similar to the one he played in There Will be Blood if I remember correctly, and he did it much better there imo. I'm even going to sit through Nine (a musical) just to see him.

Hoffman in Charlie Wilson's war is one of my favorite characters ever.

just saw this preview tonight... looks like a pretty cool mind fuck movie. Has DiCaprio and Ken Watanabe in it, and is directed by Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight/Memento)

Sorry the embedding is disabled... just click the link to watch it.

Christopher Nolan wrote, produced, and directed it.

Haven't looked forward to a movie like this in a while.

Damn, he has the trifecta? Nice... I didn't know that. Sucks that we gotta wait until July to see it. Shutter Island will hopefully hold me over until then.

the last time Christopher Nolan was hands-on with all 3 roles was the movie 'The Prestige', but that was with his brother Jonathan involved in the writing process also. His first full feature film 'The Following' was done solely by him, and it was fairly well done. 'Inception' is interesting, as this is his 3rd non-Batman related feature film without his brother ('The Following','Insomnia' the other 2). Unfortunately, not many people have seen 'The Following' and avid movie viewers rank 'Insomnia' as one of his worst films he has done, which they think is still a good movie.

We will see here. I read this is something his wife Emma Thomas and him have been compiling for many years.

Oh boy. What do we have here? A new re-make of A Nightmare On Elm Street!? I'm torn here because I hate remakes of classics, the movie is produced by uber douche Michael Bay, but the trailer looks well done and the director is some dude who's experience has been a couple hundred music videos. Could go either way... I don't know. Thoughts?
