2007.06.16. RENE AMESZ (Extended 4 hr Set) @ Footwork w. Simon Jain, Matt Shaw & Jason Myles
The undisputed reigning master of dirty low-end techno funk is back...and in proper fashion. This time around, Rene Amesz will get to unfurl his world-renowned programming in grand fashion as he lays it out proper in a 4 hour-extended set., in the intimate yet thundering setting of Footwork. Hailing from Holland, Rene has become quite the jetsetter, with his skills and talents being sought from just about everywhere, including China, Morocco, and of course, across the ocean here in Canada. Having released a plethora of dance floor damagers over the past years, Rene's profile has elevated to such that few have attained at such a quick pace. Not only was he hand selected to open for Sander Kleinenberg at Sander’s last 2 annual WMC Space events, as well as one stop at the esteemed Ministry of Sound in London, but he was invited by Sander himself to be the only other artist on the bills. His leap into the dance floor elite is soon to be concrete, as he is set to perform his very first BBC Radio One Essential Mix, on the worlds most sought after turntables at the end of June.
Supported by some of Toronto's best up & comers, Jason Myles and Matt Shaw, both making waves in the local scene, as well as the charismatic Simon Jain, whose tenures have seen him grace several of the city's most respected and revered clubs, this event promises to be a musical typhoon. Just one more lesson in your musical education.
