Paulino, I do like and appreciate the sound design, but each time you had that "wash" sound come in and it felt like you would change the chord progression of the song to something epic, you just returned the song to how it was before.

You need to bring in some higher pitched leads / pad sounds and do a progression ontop of it. Elements need to evolve and progress, not just repeat over and over in the exact same manner with added elements.

I also felt like while the intro sounded good, it just didn't have enough variation / elements to keep me interested before you did the buildup washes. The percussion plays a big role here in the beginning of the track. You have a good sounding kick, but the rest of the percussion is forgettable IMO.

TLDR: With a simple progression in your songs they would sound so much better.

No problem and once again, your sound design is fantastic man. Just work on transitioning your song into a basic chord progression and do subtle variations of your drums and some automation and you will be golden.

Thanks again man, I'm still struggling with writers block and don't know where to begin on chord progressions, i need to do a lot more in depth research.

My thoughts, nice overall vibe.

Ditch the Lisa Stansfield strangs!
Instead augment the keys with quiet more modern pads and such like.

The 'late night' suitcase keys are nice but need automatic as they are too static. So use the filters etc, bring them in and out to reduce repetition.

Some vocals would be nice, even if quite sparse, maybe with some lush long delays etc

Snare is a bit heavy for this 'early morning' vibe IMO.

You are good at this sort of style, always enjoyable, but I'm hearing loads of this just now which is reminiscent of late 90's / early noughties and fat too much of it is just lifted from then with no real evolution.

Cheers guys,

That repeated 'water plop' type sound (wuuuup) is very repetitive for me and is distracting. I reckon use it sparingly.
I'm not sure about the mix but it sounds decent on my little office speakers.

Vocals are,,,,meh, like ok, nothing special. For example at one point it sounds like 'jib jibber' which is like something a old grandma would say!

Thanks guys ☺ I'm ditching this one I feel like the a side (last one I posted) is quite strong - especially now I've got some (I think) quality vocals for it! This one's not up to to and identify is a bit confused

Also now I'm going to be working with a rlly bloody good singer songwriter for the b side want something better and more musical for her to work with! !

Thanks again guys -the "constructive", honest feedback is the hardest to take, but always the most usefull

this thread is awesome! !!

Which one are you ditching, the jazzy one -> you shouldn't Chris, remember lots of guys over here have their own taste in the music and they would like to hear a specific things in a specific areas lol - so no!!! keep working on it, I believe this is pretty sweet one and with addition of good vocal this can go a long way -> when is done properly I may be able to hook you up with some people.

Cheer man,

Darek
