:dizzy:!!!

If I want to know what are the hottest new tunes, dj's, and new music styles out in trance each month, where do I find out? I can check this forum and trance.nu forum but what else do you suggest?

What radio can i listen to, what websites, what cd compilations should I check? ?

......Fuck...

nice work...

But everyone should make sure it is all 110% accurate... If people start to use it to reference tehir knowledge, and it's wrong, we're skewing very important history.

Needs to be more Emphasis on Paul Oakenfold If u ask me, especially since some people consider him "the father of modern day trance" ....

maybe i could find some info on Oakie's contribution

Misc. points of mention:
[Early 90's Trance in Germany]
*Sven Väth collaborates with Michael Münzing & Luca Anzilotti on a project called "Off" in 1986, three years before Münzing and Anzilotti release "The Power" under their infamous "Snap!" moniker. In 1988 Väth along with Münzing and Matthias Martinsohn founds The Omen club in Frankfurt, bringing the Acid House sound to Germany. The Omen hosts DJ's from all around the world until its closure in 1998, including a number of early 90's Trance DJ's (Dag, Väth, Frank Lorber, and so on...).

*Sven Vath plays (acid)trance at Love Parade as early as 1991.

*The first commercial radio station to play Trance, Germany's HR3 Clubnight, founded in 1990. It goes on in the following years to have many guest Trance DJ's from 1991-1995 including Pascal F.E.O.S., DJ Dag, Sven Väth, Mark Spoon, Talla2xlc, Mario De Bellis, and Ulli Brenner, to name a few.

[Early 90's Trance in America]
*Frankie Bones brings the Trance sound to America via the import of German DJ's like Sven Väth and Caspar Pound at his early 90's STORMrave events in Brooklyn (This was 1990, but no doubt Väth, Pound, and others came back later when Trance was their signature sound). He himself plays such Trance classics as Age Of Love and others during this time (though he still mostly played Techno). Sandra Collins played Trance on the East and West coasts of America during this time, and DJ Micro played Trance at his Caffeine residency. Dave Trance played at Caffeine during at the same time as well.

First he played Disco/Classic House ('82-87 maybe), then Acid House ('87-'89/'90 maybe), then Trance ('91-'96/'97 maybe), then Techno again ('97-present).

That's a good post but you forgot a really big classic. Such as:

Dance 2 Trance - We Came In Peace

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

IMO the best classic.
