I like it but the whole mix sounds kind of boxy. Like there is a small room reverb put over the top of the mix (in particlar the rythmix section). The bassline is a bit to prominent sometimes, just putting it a few dB down should fix that. Other than it was a nice listen .
If less is more think about how much more more would be.

I noticed the bass was a bit loud when I listened again this morning. This boxy sound you've mentioned before, I think it's because I add a room reverb to parts of the drums, dunno for me it just feels a bit more alive, but I take your feedback seriously so will have a another listen.
OR it might be the Cubase vintage compressor across the master that is making it boxy. I'll have a fiddle.
I also noticed some of the leeds are playing over one another a bit to much here n there so will strip some back.
Thanks for listening you guys.
BTW - I'm making my first ever hip hop track with a rap done by some bloke, has anyone here made any hop?

just a quick listen on my laptop here, like the melodies they stand out nicely, its kinda like that Anjunadeep stuff, definitely not deep house
Listening properly now - i love the bassline, really catchy
unfortunately cos of all the stuff you add its getting a bit lost after the first break
its better after the second break as the sounds you bring in are more out of the way
I would get the mid of that bassline up a bit more into the mix and make it the focal point
you seem to have a tendancy to keep adding stuff, what that results in is frequency overlapping - the brain can only concentrate on so many things at any one time
also id bring up the clap, at the moment is too far back relative to the hats and the reverb makes it sound even further away

LOL That is cool as fuck Richard...
I usually judge tracks like this by how much "head bob" I do, I did alot on this..lol
Good "crunk" style there. Can't wait to hear the progress!

Sounds good but are you compressing this a bit too much? (at least in some parts) and some parts of drums are a bit to loud (for my taste Richard) - overall sounds really cool

Ah I already made changes before reading your feedback Evo.
Added an Anjuna style vocal etc
Tried already reducing some elements
I quietened the mid bass in response to Storytellers comment.
Let me know where there are too many things going on and I will address
And I wonder now if to increase bass again?
I quietened the knocky kik
Darek thanks for the feed, hopefully the latest incarnation is smoother
Cheers

Yep. Matter of fact, this was my first attempt a month ago.
Lol, you must have hell of the time with this vocal lol - still is off in few places but overall concept is interesting man, one of few worth of finishing over here.

Started working on this one the past hour or so and feeling fairly good about it. Lots of placeholders but confident in the prominent tones.
I think I may finally have my next original track which I havent done in a long time.

Funny how opinions on mixing mixing technicalities can be opposite.
I'll try and give my 2 cents to all tracks on the previous page later today
