On the other hand, I'm not a fan of music snobs either. I've been to some parties where everyone knew their shit about the music and yet, the vibe was as negative (and more boring) as a 5AM fistpump circle at Jonathan Peters.

Can't wait to see how it goes, and I really hope for the best; I need a new club to go to! I'm just not excited anymore..

I do think the Hip hop room in Pacha is pretty lame and always wonder what hip hop fan/ club go-er would choose to go to Pacha for hip hop when they are so many good hip hop clubs in NYC to go too- I actually consider them losers, or those that are too intimidated by a real hip hop club and choose pacha instead. That being said they do tend to stay upstairs and do not really bother, some night though pacha seems so seedy and creepy like times square back in the 70's and that is just weird and creepy- but doesnt really hinder my good times. I am so looking forward to this new club and will be there for opening night so it will be crazy that night regardless- lets hope for good things since the people who are not music snobs or guido fist pumpers need a place to call home.

Cielo and Pacha are night and day. They hold a door at Cielo on most nights and why the crowd is 100x's better than Pacha. People hate pacha because it's filled with guido douchebags, meatheads without shirts and complete creeps. As long as D36 sets the story straight from day 1 they'll be ok......oh yea and never ever book JP or Boris.

It's a tough thing to do though. Where do you draw the line? How do you tell the techno fan with sneakers, jeans, and a graphic tshirt waiting online he can come in, but assume the more muscular dude in the Ed Hardy shirt, but same sneakers and jeans can't? Any strict door policy will end up affecting us all negatively. I wouldn't go to a Drumcode night with anything more than my Devils hat, tshirt, jeans, and sneakers. What could the door policy possibly be, that wouldn't piss off techno and house lovers?

I never told anyone that the opening is Labor Day weekend, not sure who told you that. The official opening is Friday 09.17.10 as previously mentioned in this thread.

Very good point, and if D36 is being compared to Arc or Twilo, then from what I remember in those club nights, there was FAR from any dress code.

Anyways it's very exciting to see a new club opening...I think this could only have a positive effect on club life in NYC. I hope for the best with this place, and cant wait to see it.

You saying you can't tell the difference between a guido dbag and an every day dude wearing jeans and a tshirt? It's really not that hard. Even simple policies like you must have sleeves on your shirt and you can't take your shirt off in a club will help curb the pacha crowd.

I think having a shirt policy is actually a really good idea usually next to the middle aged asian men is the group of muscular guys from all ethnic backgrounds with there shirts off, very nearby are the tranny escorts- lol ohhh pacha you crazy place you.
