So finally after months of trying I feel I have cracked the bass on this track.
I will get this pro mastered perhaps by our good Dutch analogue friend here.
Can you please critique this. Does the bass growl enough?
I made some automation mistakes in the break which I will sort.
Riding the levels of things like vocals and piano on this has been a nightmare taking massive amounts of time but still I think there are errors.

Sounds great Richard. There's only one thing I would address. When the bass comes in and plays its Progression, have the pianos left hand following the root note progression of the bass. At the moment they play the same root note on bar 1 of the turn around, but on bar three of the turn around it sounds like the bass synth changes its root note while the piano is still sustaining it's note from bar one, it's at this point that things sound a little out of key and clashing melodically, then it comes good again on bar four cause they both are playing the same root note in the bottom registers. My 2 cents!

I got some feedback now, you know that nintendo sound you have going through, I think you should try to mute it and see if the whole sounds better. If you feel there is empty spaces in some parts, you should try a very reverbed out pad/atmoshperic element in the background just enough to create ambience, very faint though.
The thing about the atmospheric ambience aspect, matt lange is an artist that does this very well, you could check out some of his tunes. A little bit of delay'd reverb stuff can go a long way.

arthur deep is another guy.

Yeah, this is Anakratis area of mastery lol - I'm more in to the dance genre then anything else but those two examples are really cool man, sound like very creative way of using reverb in your tunes.
EDIT: He has few free downloads on his site:

Hey guys,
ive still been playing around with this song and from the original post its changed fairly drasticaly but I kinda like it, I tried to implement as many of the suggestions made as well as keep aware of my own itnernal feel, etc. I havent really mixed this yet, more about arrangement, etc. I dont know how much better I can get it in that regard, i'll just have to accept that this is where im at right now and will hopefuly improve as I work on more songs.
Im so used to hearing the original that now this feels like everything happens to quickly, but I do agree that the original was long. Does it feel rushed now?
Thanks,
