That guy is entirely right. Throughout my 4 years at U of R, total costs went from about 41-46,000 per year. I know many of my classmates who have still yet to land a decent job (I graduated in 2009). Unless you have a special skill, or a select few types of degrees, even a diploma from Harvard isn't a ticket to success. I even know people from my class who went to my school undergrad and then my school's graduate school of education, and are now making less money than I do. It's pretty fucking frustrating the "value" of these diplomas compared to what they're actually worth in the real world. Sure, it's a nice thing to hang on your wall, but with the ever increasing number of students going to institutions of higher education, it's most certainly not the guarantee of a successful career as it once was.
