Yeah I didn't find it funny either. It's mortifying/embarrassing. Yeah kids don't have a filter, but you can still teach them the difference between being rude or not. Laughing doesn't really teach them much. Stupid idiot parents/adults.

yeah i got that in the first part, then this:
"I looked at mom with saucer eyes and grabbed them both and pulled them into the room! Mom didn't see it and said "what?!" Looked out into the hallway and immediately lost her shit."

Oh geez, lighten up, laides.
Nobody was laughing AT the short dude. They were laughing at Lily's innocent observation and blatant vocalization.
And it's funny to ME because I know how mortifying it must have been for them.

i've been in that guy's position before, and it can be humiliating, even if they aren't "laughing at him". I'm glad I got out of ohio. Jus' sayin'.

The better parent would have apologized on behalf of their stupid and embarrassing child.

I understand that, I just think the story gives the impression that my girlfriend's mom was like standing in the hotel hallway pointing and laughing at the guy, which definitely isn't the case. (But I suppose I can't expect you to know how sweet and reserved my girlfriend's mom is.)
Anywho, nobody can argue that you're lucky to not be in Ohio.

Well, I'm glad you've graduated to insulting people's four year-old daughters.
